Let’s talk Haslingden!

We know it’s been a tough year for businesses up and down the country and we are no different.

The changes to Haslingden High Street, currently in progress have caused significant disruption to our general trade and since Halloween, it has nose dived again.

We are very fortunate to have the support of two other stores however Haslingden is currently showing signs of deterioration in footfall patterns which is incompatible with running a successful business. Some of our customers may remember The Hill and our decision to close this shop based on the same patterns!

We will be observing very closely over the next 60 days to decide our future for Haslingden.

Unfortunately, our costs haven’t decreased, we still have rent to pay, lighting, staff costs, business insurances along with stock, these don’t go away!

The old saying is, don’t use it, you lose it.

✅ We absolutely want to stay in Haslingden.
✅ We want to retain our presence & staff members in Haslingden.
✅ We want to support the very fabric of Haslingden and be a choice for people.

❌ Footfall trends have decreased 61%
❌ Income has dropped below our staff members costs
❌ It’s actually cheaper to close Haslingden Store than open it… however this doesn’t work long term and is only a sticking plaster

🎉A huge to Abigail - Rossendale Carer of the Month for September🎉
Abigail has been working closely with a client with dementia, they have developed a good bond. Abigail has found the client has a particular interest in birds and went above and beyond in sourcing a colouring book which was all different kinds of birds.
Abigail sits with her and she tells Abigail what colour to colour each part in. The clients family have complimented Abigail on the support she offers the client and them, and that the client and her husband both look forward to Abigail visiting.
