Have you booked your NHS Health Check?

The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of the health of your heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular health). It can tell you whether you're at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as:
🔹 heart disease
🔹 diabetes
🔹 kidney disease
🔹 stroke
During the check-up you'll discuss how to reduce your risk of these conditions.

If you're aged over 65, you'll also be told about symptoms of dementia to look out for, as some types of dementia have the same risk factors as these conditions. You can also be given details of local services that help with dementia.

The NHS Health Check is for everyone aged 40 to 75 and who doesn't have a pre-existing health condition. If you're eligible, you should have received an invite. Please book yours as soon as possible.

Under Jess’s Rule, GP teams are encouraged to critically re-evaluate a diagnosis if a patient presents three times with the same or escalating symptoms or concerns.

Implementing Jess’s Rule will support GP teams to manage patients with unclear symptoms, helping to improve quality of care and potentially saving lives by avoiding missed or delayed diagnosis of more serious conditions such as cancer or sepsis.

Under Jess’s Rule, listening carefully to a patient’s symptoms and concerns remain crucial, recognising they are an expert in their own body.

For more information about Jess's Rule, visit the NHS website 👉 https://orlo.uk/t2kQd
