‼ ‼ IMPORTANT 2ND DOSE VACCINE UPDATE ‼ ‼

We have now received confirmation of the delivery of 2nd dose vaccines into Rotherham for next week (week commencing 22nd MARCH).

People who received their FIRST DOSE OF THE VACCINE between 7TH TO 10TH JANUARY 2021 in a Rotherham Vaccination site will receive their 2ND DOSE next week (between 23rd and 27th March) and be allocated a specific appointment time. We are currently in the process of sending out letters to all these patients, which will arrive later this week. We are working extremely hard and around the clock to get these appointments out to patients as quickly as possible. Please look out for your appointment letter coming through the post.

We can confirm that all patients will receive the same type of vaccine at same location as their first dose in January. We are aware that not all patients access Facebook, however please share with family and friends.

Thank you for your continued patience and support. We will provide a further COVID vaccination update later this week.

Our health message for March is to be aware of Lung Cancer. If you have lungs, you can get the disease, it is important to know the signs and symptoms and know what is normal for you.
Although people who have never smoked can develop lung cancer, smoking is the most common cause - No Smoking Day is the 10th March. https://www.todayistheday.co.uk/ Get Healthy Rotherham can help you to stop: https://tinyurl.com/y7c5qfzy

As mentioned on RB1 yesterday, there's now FREE TRAVEL available for those in high priority groups who have difficulty getting to their COVID-19 vaccination in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley or Doncaster.

You may have family or friends who are in one of these high priority groups, so if they have been sent details of their vaccination appointment and can't use public transport, ring one of these phone numbers and they'll do their best to get them to their appointment - but please give them plenty of advance notice!

Full details are available on the Travel South Yorkshire website.

‼️‼️ ADDITITONAL COVID-19 VACCINATION BOOKING OPTION FOR ROTHERHAM SITES ‼️‼️

We are continuing to vaccinate large numbers of people within the high priority groups across Rotherham and we thank you for your continued support and patience during this time. As we begin to expand the vaccination programme locally, we have listened to feedback and from Friday 29th January we are providing an additional option for you to book your vaccination appointment via an online booking system. It is your choice if you wish to use this additional option for booking online. If you do not wish to use the online booking form, you will still be contacted via phone call or letter.

Rotherham residents who have mobile phone number registered with their GP practice may receive a text message from ***GP SURGERY*** that will contain a unique link directing you to book.nhs.me to book your vaccination when it is turn to be vaccinated.

Please Note:

🔴You will only receive the booking text message from ***GP SURGERY*** if you have a registered mobile number with your GP Practice.
🔴You will only receive an invite for your COVID-19 vaccination when it is your turn.
🔴You will only be able to book an appointment for yourself. The link included in the text message is unique to you. The system will not allow anyone to use the same link to book an appointment for themselves.
🔴The NHS COVID-19 vaccination text message will sent from ‘GP SURGERY’ contain the following:

Mr / Mrs / Miss / Ms ### [Your Forename / Surname]
Name of GP Practice

🔴Once you have booked your appointment a confirmation text message will be sent to your mobile phone.

‼️‼️ If you do not have a mobile number registered with your GP Practice, please do not worry. Our vaccination booking centre will call you and book your vaccine appointment when it is your turn.
Please do not ring your GP practice for a vaccine appointment. ‼️‼️

Please be aware of current scams circulating via text and email. The NHS will never ask for bank details to book your vaccination. We will not send an invite via email, all invites for COVID-19 vaccination appointments will be via phone call, text message or letter. Please stay safe and stay alert. 👀
