I get it , I love, practice and teach both — Pilates is beautiful movement.
It’s strong, elegant, controlled.
But yoga… yoga’s the thing that strips it all back.

Don’t worry…
You can choose both - I do ….
You can move your body and your energy.

Yoga doesn’t sculpt your body for the world to see, it shapes the parts of you that no one else can.

It teaches you to listen. To breathe. To let go.
It reminds you that presence is power, not 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.

So yeah…the trend might have shifted.
But yoga was never about being trendy.

Did you know we now have a Yin Yoga class on our timetable? 🧘‍♀️

What is yin yoga?

* Pace:

Yin is a slow-paced practice where the focus is on holding poses for an extended time, compared to more active (yang) yoga styles. ��
* Poses:

The practice involves mostly floor-based poses, including forward bends, lunges, and gentle backbends, which are held for several minutes at a time. ��
* Focus:

It targets deeper connective tissues like bones, ligaments, and fascia, rather than muscles. ��
* Mindfulness:

It is a meditative practice that encourages you to focus on your breath and become present in the pose, fostering a sense of calm and stillness.

Benefits of yin yoga

* Physical:
Increases flexibility and mobility, particularly in the hips and hamstrings.

* Mental:
Calms the mind and can alleviate stress, anxiety, and burnout.

* Emotional:
Promotes grounding and emotional balance.

* Energetic:
Can help to revitalize energy levels and promote deep rest and rejuvenation.

HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE......

And Happy International Yoga Day.

It’s funny, having practiced yoga for 25 years International Day is something that came in more recently.

In my world, everyday has been international yoga day and has been since the day I stepped on my Yoga mat for the very first time.

Remember what yoga really truly is about…it is about liberation (moksha)

So I shan’t be doing 108 sun salutations or promoting a special class, just celebrating the energy of this time of year 🔥☀️

Infact this afternoon you may find me relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunshine ☀️

This is also yoga.

Remember that every day is about our own journey, our own experience.

Every day is Yoga Day.

Life is full. Life is messy. Life is hard. And Yoga helps.

There are seasons when everything feels like too much—when you’re pulled in a million directions and even five quiet minutes feel impossible to find.

But here’s what I’ve learned over many years of practice

You don’t need an hour.

You don’t need the perfect space.

You don’t need the fancy clothes.

You don’t even need a mat.

You just need five to ten minutes—and a willingness to show up for yourself.

This practice isn’t about doing more—it’s about creating a habit that meets you where you are.

A habit that sticks because it’s realistic. Supportive. Sustainable.

You don’t need to be perfect to start. You just need to begin.

Let this be your reminder:

✨ Your practice doesn’t have to be long to be powerful.
✨ It doesn’t have to be perfect to be effective.
✨ It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s—it just has to feel true for you.

Let me help you build a practice that lasts through life—because life is unpredictable, and yoga, meditation and mindfulness can help you move through it with more steadiness, clarity, and care.

The start of a fresh new year……

January is always a time where people set big new year resolutions. Often these resolutions have dwindled by the time February comes! Hence why I don’t really set strict resolutions. Instead I like to set some gentle intentions of something I would like to try or work on throughout the whole year, not just the first few weeks!
 
This month’s theme is all about:
 
Committing to you and finding your best self. 
 
I think we can all agree that often we don’t take time for ourselves enough. TIme to do things we enjoy, time to relax, time to exercise, time to just be. 

Well I challenge you this year to do just that. I want you to work on committing to taking more time for you, however that looks. 
And if that involves building a consistent yoga practice then I have you covered!

It isn’t about putting pressure on yourself to do these things but about carving out set time for you and then keeping it up.

Consistency is the key here. 
 
So maybe you just commit to 1 thing a week that is just for you. Maybe that builds and becomes more regular but the key thing here is it’s consistent!

So join me for some yoga classes this year- I would love to help you build some new healthy habits!

I just want to say a huge thank you to you all for supporting my little business over the last few years ☺️🧘‍♀️🩷

This year will be five years since I launched my yoga classes and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have such a wonderful community of people , so thank you for your support and friendship ☺️

I am looking forward to continuing our yoga journey through this next year and beyond.

Here we are – the final week of yoga classes for 2024 has been taught.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who joined me on the mat this year in class at Soul Therapy Yoga and Bodyscene Health and leisure club

Your presence, energy, and support mean the world to me, and I truly appreciate each of you.

I’m so excited to continue this journey together and share even more with you in 2025.
