Today has been a busy and fulfilling day in the care home, but we still made time for some enjoyable activities together. Residents took part in a friendly puzzle competition, followed by a relaxing arts and crafts.

For “Fruity Tuesday,” we served grapes and kiwi. It was lovely to see that many residents were trying kiwi for the first time, and several commented on how refreshing and enjoyable it was.

This morning, residents enjoyed starting the day with some gentle ball games, encouraging movement, coordination, and plenty of laughter.

Later in the morning, Lynn, Bushy, and Hazel enjoyed a trip to the local shops to pick up a newspaper and a few tasty treats.

In the afternoon, we held a friendly game of skittles, which was well enjoyed by everyone who took part. We also carried out room visits to spend one-to-one time with residents who preferred to relax in their own rooms.

We rounded off the day by offering a selection of refreshing fruity drinks from our hydration trolley, helping everyone stay well hydrated and comfortable.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Coffee Morning at the care home today.

There was a wonderful selection of cakes enjoyed by all, along with plenty of tea and great company.

A special thank you to Margaret, who delighted us with a lovely song and made the morning even more memorable.

Thanks to the raffle ticket sales, we raised an amazing £103, which will go directly towards our Residents’ Fund to support future activities and events.

We truly appreciate everyone’s support.

This morning, we enjoyed a lovely chair-based exercise session, which quickly turned into a cheerful dance and sing-along — and why not! 🤷

Afterwards, we had a quick game of Play Your Cards Right and a round of Jenga, which brought plenty of smiles and friendly competition.

Later on, Lynn and Margaret headed off to another appointment. It’s always special to spend quality time together — there’s never a dull moment and lots of fun along the way.

Another busy and joyful day here at Broadacres Care Home!

Our wonderful hairdresser, Debs, visited and worked her magic, leaving everyone looking and feeling fabulous. Unfortunately, our resident photographer was out for the day, so we didn’t manage to capture many photos — but the ones we did get are absolutely gorgeous!

Lynn and Hazel headed out for an appointment and enjoyed a little change of scenery.

In the afternoon, Nick spent some time with Lynn sorting through her activities cupboard. They discovered lots of fantastic resources and ideas to enjoy in the future — plenty to keep us all busy and entertained!

As always, it’s not just our Activities Coordinator who keeps the fun going. Our caring team members also take every opportunity to sit down with residents for a chat, a game, or a shared activity. It’s these special moments that make Broadacres feel so warm and homely.

This morning we carried out room visits and enjoyed some gentle activities to help stimulate coordination and cognitive skills.

As it was Tutti Frutti Tuesday, residents enjoyed a lovely serving of pineapple, banana and cream, which went down very well.

Later in the day, Ralf and Lynn enjoyed a short outing together. It was wonderful to spend some time in the fresh air, especially with the sunshine making it such a pleasant trip. ☀️

This morning, residents enjoyed a trip out to the shops to pick up their weekly treats.

We also put up our hydration sign-up to encourage everyone to keep their fluids up throughout the day.

Later on, we exercised our minds with a fun general knowledge quiz. This took place as a group activity in the lounge, with additional room visits to ensure everyone had the chance to take part.

We finished the day on a high note with our weekly mocktail. This week’s special was a refreshing Pineapple Fizz, which was enjoyed by all.
