Hundreds of female entrepreneurs are feeling “stress, fear and anxiety” over plans to tighten Botox and dermal filler rules that could put them out of business before the Scottish election.

While Holyrood ministers are aiming to more closely regulate the aesthetics sector, there is growing concern about the unintended consequences of the bill going through the Scottish parliament.

The main changes would mean that non-surgical procedures could be carried out only in appropriate settings where a registered prescribing healthcare professional is present.
