InsideOut Therapies

InsideOut Therapies Hello, do you feel as if you have got a lot of 'stuff' going on inside your head? At InsideOut we can help you with those anxious feelings.

Have you reached a point where you feel it is holding you back in some way? Would it be helpful to make sense of it by talking to someone? For all sorts of reasons, everyone experiences a sense of lots going on inside their head at times. Sometimes those anxious thoughts really impact on our feelings and cause us to get into patterns of behaviour that can stop us living our lives to the full. That ‘stuff’ can make even the brightest day seem dark and worrying. It really helps to talk about it and make new, more fulfilling ways of living our lives. It takes an inner strength to recognise that those feelings need to be dealt with and taking that first step takes real courage. With InsideOut you have a choice of how that ‘stuff’ gets out. We can help you make those changes on the inside that can help make for a happier brighter life.

A systematic review suggests 8 weeks of mindfulness training leads to brain changes similar to those seen in experienced meditators.

10th October 2016 is World Mental Health Day. England Athletics are supporting this with a week long campaign.

The campaign is encouraging people to run a mile or more with friends, family, colleagues or other runners and chat as you go!

It’s about:

- getting people talking about mental health, sharing their experiences and removing stigma.

We’ve probably all shared our experiences of the awful cold, or man-flu, we had last winter but would we share the fact that sometimes we can feel depressed or anxious?

- raising awareness of mental health problems.

Mental health problems are more common than people think with about one in four experiencing one each year.

- supporting people experiencing mental health problems to be physically active.

We all know the physical benefits of being active and there is lots of evidence to show that it improves our mental wellbeing too.

Being mentally healthy is just as important as being physically healthy and the good news you can combine the two by heading out with a friend for a trot round the park in the autumn sunshine.

I read this book for the first time recently and it struck a number of chords with me....... "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson. It is a short book and really worth the effort to read.
It's about dealing with changes in our lives and how we adapt to those changes, or not. The 'cheese' can be anything that we need to maintain the safety of our everyday lives; relationships, jobs, money, social standing, behaviours, anything that is important to us.

If you need help with a change, just message us to tell us how we can help.
