There should be laws which compel weight loss companies and people who peddle weight loss to declare short and long term outcome data about their product/program, and provide likely outcomes if no such specific data exists. Shouting about short term weight losses but silence about weight regain and internalized stigma is deceptive advertising.

Eating intuitively embraces eating the type and amount of food you're hungry for. Sometimes this may be one cookie, sometimes more and sometimes you might decide you actually don't really want the cookie.

We hope you're having a lovely weekend and enjoying some delicious food!

Note: many people require help with their eating pattern before starting on the intuitive eating journey. This is especially true for those with eating disorders, very disordered eating or if through years of dieting, you've lost connection with your hunger and fullness.

A non-diet dietitian who is weight neutral/HAES (so no weight loss focus) can help you with this.

It feels like there has been more talk around weight loss as a means to improve health in the past few weeks, despite no evidence to its long-term effectiveness.

Surely practicing self care is more important than achieving weight loss. The vast majority of weight loss programs do not promote true self care.

Dieting is not self care, restricting food is not self care, going hungry is not self care, choosing to eat less enjoyable food is not self care, avoiding eating out or social events with food is not self care and exercising purely to burn fat or calories is not self care.
