What’s the hardest part of closed-loop neuromodulation?

Hannah Claridge, Head of TTP’s Neurotechnology team, shares why the biggest challenge isn’t adding sensors into a device, but interpreting what those signals really mean. Turning noisy biological data into reliable therapeutic decisions takes scientific insight, rigorous implementation, and careful real-world validation.

Watch Hannah discuss the toughest technical hurdle in bringing closed-loop neuromodulation to life.

🚀A couple of weeks ago, we had the joy of hosting sixth form students from across Cambridge on our campus for a Cambridge LaunchPad project day, immersing them in a day in the life of a TTP Consultant. Their task? Designing, building (and successfully launching…) water-powered rockets!

The power of LaunchPad project day is that students get to tackle a practical project that tests their science and engineering skills, whilst immersed in a real workplace - giving them a real glimpse of a potential future career, and in a workplace that lies right on their doorstep.

For any sixth form students who are aspiring scientists or engineers, our Future Scholars scheme is now open to applications! This is aimed at women or students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, who are in Years 12 or 13, and provides a week of work experience as well as the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship that provides financial support, mentorship and internships throughout university. To find out more or request an application, contact scholarship@ttp.com. The deadline for applications is 20th March 2026.

🎃 Pumpkin carving, TTP style!

Our teams got hands-on this week for our annual Pumpkin Carving Competition, a brilliant mix of creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly rivalry.

True to form, we couldn’t resist approaching it like any other challenge: with imaginative ideas, clever designs, and some “impressively engineered” solutions.

It’s a fun reminder that the same curiosity and problem-solving that drive our projects across TTP Group also shine through in moments like these.

Our first day at Defence in Space went well, and we are looking forward to day two - Yesterday, TTP’s Andy Fell joined the panel discussion on Delivering Future Hybrid Satcom Networks, along with speakers from Babcock International Group, Kymeta Corporation, Gilat Satellite Networks and Telespazio UK, moderated by Paul Wells, UK MoD/Defence Digital.

Key takeaways from the panel were:
▪️Hybrid satcom is a major theme: multi-orbit, multi-band systems are on the horizon, and the big question is how to design antennas and terminals as well as the infrastructure to run multiple concurrent services with optimum size weight and power.
▪️Alt PNT for provision of GNSS back up is a hot topic, with solutions now becoming available.
▪️Cybersecurity is an increasing concern: as hybrid systems evolve, multiple layers of redundancy and protection will be vital to defend against emerging threats.
▪️MOD attitude is shifting from contracts to collaboration, looking for industry partnerships.

You can find the TTP team on booth G1 looking forward to more great discussions!

We had a fantastic time last week at Bright Network’s Women in TEC. Thank you to all the talented, curious, driven women who attended – we loved meeting you!

Here’s what our own Vidhya Sridhar, Head of Aerospace & Defence, had to say about her experience of the day:

‘It was my pleasure being on the Bright Network panel with a diverse set of women panellists. Interestingly, despite our varied choices within TEC and our different journeys to get there, we had so much in common in terms of challenges to navigate in our career journeys: from being the only women in the room, struggling to find their voice, to finding allies at work.

What I particularly enjoyed about the discussion was that the outlook was not to commiserate, but to share ways we can turn these challenges into an advantage. Throughout, we had a lovely engaged audience who asked some excellent questions, which reassured me that the next generation of women engineers and scientists are on it – and thanks to events like these, we can provide the network for them to excel.’
