Hello and thank-you for landing here! I’d like to give you an idea of who I am and where I am coming from; a few years ago, I found a lump in my chest, to cut a long story short; I had chemotherapy, an all day operation and radiotherapy. Only after did I try and work out what had gone on; I found myself at a raw food demonstration which was so enlightening; a beautiful girl stood before us; turning nuts into cheesecake bases and avocados into chocolate sauce; this girl was a magician with food; she became my superhero and suddenly the word “nutrition” became very important to me, so much so, I went to college and got a diploma; so now I want to give something back and help people in a similar place to where I was, return to health. This page aims to give you quick little health bites you may already know but its good to be reminded of. Good health to you all :-)

A new study linked non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac with an increase in cardiac arrest. Research data showed painkiller use was linked to a 31% higher risk of cardiac arrest in patients. NSAIDs should be used with caution and for a valid indication.

“Allowing these drugs to be purchased without a prescription, and without any advice or restrictions, sends a message to the public that they must be safe. The findings are a stark reminder that NSAIDs are not harmless. Diclofenac and ibuprofen, both commonly used drugs, were associated with significantly increased risk of cardiac arrest.

Friday Fact:
Some years ago; David Cameron promised money for drugs that the NHS could not afford, however NICE pulled 8 of the 10 of those DRUGS as they did not work, this was a report made by the Acadamy of Royal Medical colleges which stated that the palative care drugs are unlikely to work, give false hope and often did more harm than good. Then a third study came out as recently as late 2017; which was in the British Journal; it stated that 11 out of 68 drugs launched 5 years ago actually did increase survival, in other words 57 out of 68 drugs did not work and did not increase survival. Whats concerning is that we live in a world dominated by drugs companies and research such as Can. cer Research (CRUK) research for these companies.
(Is this a fair and equal field; i.e. are only drugs researched rather than natural compounds??? Can natural compounds be patented,no, can drugs be patented and make lots of money, yes.

What to do?
Ask yourself some questions:
Do you get any natural sunlight?
Do you take time out from modern technology?
Do you get half an hours lunch that you could use to sit out / go a walk / read a proper book as opposed to an e book
Do you only manage to get outside at weekends?
Give this subject some much needed consideration!
Understand your environment really matters and effects your health and make some adjustments! Natural light plays such an important role in regulating our bodily processes! Get out more often!

Are you willing to compromise? Here are a few suggestions;
Take a morning walk.
Expose your arms and face to sun
Switch off artificial lighting after sunset
Turn off wi fi 3 hours before sleeping
Put your smart/phone on aeroplane mode or better still swtich it off over night.
Connect more with nature
Break your addidtion with technology wi fi / mobile phones ; switch off sometimes
The more disconnected to nature you are the more effort you need to get out and take a walk in it!

Wellness Awareness Wednesday: An artificial lit lifestyle contibutes to poor health We are drowning ourselves in artificial lighting and its harming us. Living a modern artificial LIGHTS AT NIGHT life disconnects us from a healthy life and ruins our cells' ability to function properly. By not getting out in natural daylight and by living under artificial lighting, we loose part of the electrical signal normally converted by the retina which regulates body processes including generating melatonin; therefore we lose energy and we degrade emotionaly physically and mentally. GET OUTSIDE more often!
