Many of life's demands such as work, money, relationships can cause stress. And when you feel stressed, it can get in the way of sorting out these demands, or they can quite simply seem to effect everything you do. We also create our own health, not just by what we eat or how often we exercise, but also by how we think and respond to everyday situations. With the help of hypnotherapy, NLP techniques, EFT and simple life coaching you can become better equipped at handling stress, anxiety, self limiting beliefs, fears and phobias that can be holding you back from living life to the full.

This year's theme for World Sleep Day is "Quality Sleep, Sound Mind, Happy World”, focusing on how quality sleep can help to maintain mental health.

A few tips to improve our sleep:

💤 Develop a good bedtime routine. We always make sure our children stick to a bedtime ritual, but it shouldn't just be for children. Studies show that taking a warm bath 90 minutes before bed doesn’t just improve sleep quality, it also allows for deeper sleep.

💤 Avoid tech and gadgets for an hour before bedtime. All of our gadgets omit a blue light which signals to our brain to stay alert and awake. So dim the lights and turn off your phone.

💤 Have your last cup of coffee before 2pm. Caffeine stays in your system for up to 10 hours after your last drink and acts as a stimulant. Even small amounts in chocolate and painkillers can have an effect on your sleep.

💤 The recommended amount of sleep for an adult is at least seven hours a night. If you can stick to going to bed and getting up at the same time every day, the consistency reinforces your body’s sleep cycle.

💤 Doing some exercise during the day will help with your sleep. Yoga and stretching can be very calming. Walking is the easiest and most accessible and gives the added benefit of being in natural daylight which activates your circadian rhythm (your body clock.)

Poor sleep can be the first thing we experience when we are feeling stressed or anxious.

If you need any help with your sleep please get in touch.

IS NOW A GOOD TIME TO TALK?

When we are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression it can feel incredibly isolating. We don’t want to burden people with our worries, and all too often say ‘I’m fine’ rather than opening up.

My clients often say that it felt so good to be able to just talk - freely, with no judgement and to be listened to. The relief is immense.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with a problem or issue, I can help by firstly listening, then explaining why these feelings have developed and gradually help you change your negative thoughts into positive, productive ones.

I can help you move forward without dwelling too much in the past using a blend of talk therapy, solution focused hypnotherapy and the latest neuroscience research.

Contact me for a FREE Discovery Call to find out how I can help you, with no obligation to continue. I also give you an relaxation audio to help your sleep.

TIME TO QUIT SMOKING?

Stopping smoking is one of the best things you will ever do for your health.

When you stop, you give your lungs the chance to repair and you will be able to breathe easier. There are lots of other benefits too – and they start almost immediately.

It's never too late to quit.

After 20 minutes
Check your pulse rate, it will already be starting to return to normal.

⌚️
After 8 hours
Your oxygen levels are recovering, and the harmful carbon monoxide level in your blood will have reduced by half.

⌚️
After 48 hours
All carbon monoxide is flushed out. Your lungs are clearing out mucus and your senses of taste and smell are improving.

⌚️
After 72 hours
If you notice that breathing feels easier, it's because your bronchial tubes have started to relax. Also your energy will be increasing.

📆
After 2 to 12 weeks
Blood will be pumping through to your heart and muscles much better because your circulation will have improved.

📅
After 3 to 9 months
Any coughs, wheezing or breathing problems will be improving as your lung function increases by up to 10%.

📅
After 1 year
Great news! Your risk of heart attack will have halved compared with a smoker's.

📅
After 10 years
More great news! Your risk of death from lung cancer will have halved compared with a smoker's.

Today is Self-Injury Awareness Day.

'Raising awareness about self-injury is incredibly important. Awareness leads to understanding and empathy, banishing judgment and fear, and reducing the number of people who feel alone and suffer in silence.' (Lifesigns)
