CW COUNSELLING- OCTOBER/NOVEMBER FOCUS MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH
IT’S NOT WEAK TO SPEAK
men’s emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing, which is impacted by unique challenges, including societal expectations of masculinity that discourage seeking help, leading to higher rates of su***de, substance abuse, and a reluctance to discuss feelings.
-Did you know men age 40-49 have the highest su***de rate
- Men are less likely to access therapy than women.
Some symptoms can include anger, irritability, withdrawal, increased alcohol or drug use, and physical issues, but men can also experience depression and anxiety like anyone else.
Seeking support, fostering open conversations, and challenging stigmas are vital to improve outcomes.
