What a wonderful weekend at Butlers Mews!

Residents enjoyed spending time with our cheeky birds, loved having them perched on their shoulders, and had great fun with a lively men-vs-ladies dominoes match — with the ladies taking the win! 😆🏆

We held our Sunday church service, and wrapped up the weekend with a brilliant performance from Kim Spangles. Everyone was up dancing — even the staff — creating a fantastic atmosphere all around.

If you visited us today, you may have thought the staff looked a little different. Well, that's because we came to work in our Pyjamas to raise money in aid of children in need.

Today, we have been busy making birthday cards for the king. His majesty stood proud while overseeing the card making session.

We had wildlife tales and film from Simon Watts in the cinema room.
Then, this afternoon, we had bell ringers in from St John the Baptist. Residents were treated to hymns and well-known pop songs and enjoyed singing away.
After the concert, residents were invited to try a variety of bells. it's not as easy as it looks.

Finally, we would like to wish his majesty King Charles a very Happy Birthday, we have enjoyed posing for photos with the king, and we look forward to him receiving his cards.

Yesterday morning we had Choir practice, we enjoyed singing some old war songs.

In the afternoon, we stepped up the pace
and danced the afternoon away to ABBA
In the evening we attended Irene's quiz where Bob was crowned the winner.

Today we gathered for our resident meeting, where everyone shared their wonderful ideas for future activities. We also took time to honour Armistice Day with a two-minute silence and added a few more handmade poppy decorations to our home. Later, we reminisced over photos from remembrance days past and enjoyed a beautiful performance from Hannah Faulkner, singing wartime classics and favourite tunes.

Today our Residents gathered for a lively game of bingo, sharing smiles and friendly competition. Afterwards, we turned our attention to remembrance, painting poppies in honour of those who served and sacrificed. Each brushstroke was filled with care, and the poppies now stand as a beautiful tribute in our home.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined in—your spirit and stories made the day truly special.

🌟 A Great Week at Butler Mews! 🌟

It’s been a fantastic few days here at Butler Mews — busy, full of laughter, and so much fun!

We kicked off the week with a lively game of bingo (with some very lucky winners!) and enjoyed a few challenging puzzles to keep our minds sharp. Everyone got creative making some beautiful Remembrance Day crafts, and the ladies were treated to a lovely pamper session — complete with shiny new nails! 💅

Our wonderful nurses joined us for a Professionals’ Buffet Lunch, which was a great success and so lovely to see everyone together. 🥰

We also had a blast playing “Play Your Cards Right” — it was Ladies vs. Gents, and of course, the ladies took the win! 😂

We were delighted to have a visit from one of our lovely staff members, who brought her baby to meet our residents — it was cuddles all around! 👶💖

We finished the week with some gentle exercise led by our lovely Jack from Fitnniss — a perfect way to end such a fun-filled week.

Now it’s time to relax and get ready for another busy day tomorrow!

We’ve had a lovely, creative day at the home! Today we enjoyed a Creative Mojo art class, making a beautiful piece in honour of Armistice Day. We were also treated to a wonderful singing performance by Clare Care, and spent the afternoon baking Parkin to enjoy for Bonfire Night tomorrow.

As well, we received some belated photos from when our Gardening Club attended the Rugby in Bloom Awards Ceremony, where we proudly accepted our Gold Award in the Community Category and had our photo taken with the Mayor! Congrats to our lovely gardeners! 🏆

It’s been a great day here at Butler’s Mews! 🎉

We started off with a fun game of bingo, and there were plenty of lucky winners! We were also thrilled to welcome some lovely visitors all the way from Hungary, who came to see one of their long-lost friends — they hadn’t seen each other for 18 years! It was such a heartwarming reunion for everyone to witness. ❤️

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely trip to the cinema to watch a movie together, which everyone absolutely loved.

We also had some Halloween fun, and the prize for Best Dressed went to our fabulous villain — Cruella de Vil! 🤣🖤🤍

To make the day even more special, we celebrated the birthday of one of our beautiful residents, who enjoyed a delicious homemade cake prepared by our fantastic chef. 🎂🎈

Overall, it’s been a truly special day filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful moments here at Butler’s Mews. 🌟

🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us!
We had a fang-tastic day celebrating - from our staff costume contest, to our amazing seniors and deputy performing karaoke hits in their costumes to a spooky-themed dance class with Arrti from Fit4Life! We also tested our brains with a Halloween trivia quiz (congrats to Bob, our champion 🏆) and ended the night with a scary movie… hopefully we can all still sleep tonight!
