We would absolutely recommend Somatics & Yoga for Systems to anyone wanting to build a deeper, safer connection between their body and their whole system.

Johannah’s depth of knowledge in somatic therapies and yoga, combined with their lived understanding of systemhood and healing complex trauma, truly shines through every part of the course. It feels grounded, informed, and deeply compassionate.

People are welcomed exactly as they are - late arrivals, fluctuating capacity, switches, different system needs, and dealing with triggers - all of it is held without judgement or pressure. There are no rigid expectations, just genuine inclusion, safety, and respect for each system’s reality.

The course beautifully combines gentle yoga postures with practical somatic exercises that can be used for regulation, calming, and grounding, while also supporting deeper, full-system somatic healing. But often we find ourself alone when we are most in need of company... Then be your best friend to yourself.... Find parts or aspects of yourself who can be kind and gentle listeners, who can hold space, and witness...
At first this can be very difficult and it might seem impossible... Maybe start by pretending to talk to a best friend... Most of us would never choose the same critical language with a friend that we often apply to ourself...

Join me for this spring term of my Somatics & Yoga class for Systems.
This term we will be focusing on our alignments in the body, as well as aligning within ourselves, meeting our parts, to increase comfort within.
We'll be combining Sotai Ho, a Japanese movement therapy, Yoga and various other nervous system practices. Through Sotai we bring focus on comfort within a certain movement, and then we move only to the side of this comfort and ease. Allowing ourselves to choose the easier way. Which for many trauma survivors is a rather unknown experience. After trauma we are geared for pain, for extreme emotions, flashbacks and so on... We often feel healing needs to be just as painful... It can often feel endless and as if there will never be an end to the suffering. Sotai invites yous to notice where things feel okay, maybe even good, or at least less painful...
This doesn't just create an opportunity to feel safer in the body but also within your parts.
It's a gentle practice, combined with yoga and all of our parts...

This class is for anybody living with dissociative identities. It's a unique mix of yoga, mindfulness and other trauma informed somatic practices that I've come across over the years on my own healing journey as well as with my clients.

I offer a safe enough space for yous to connect with your body from the safety of your own home. It can often be very difficult to attend a regular yoga or exercise class when there are many in one body. Agreement of what's needed or wanted isn't always easy or clear...
This class is about choice and empowerment. Yous only do what feels good and safe for all of yous. There is no right or wrong way of being in this class. I will be offering lots of variations for each practice, and the pace is slow to allow time for noticing what feels good.

This is not a therapy or support group. It's a class for systems who already have an understanding of their system, inner communication, system responsibility and accountability, self-care and support in case of being triggered, and some experience of yoga or movement based practices to ensure your safety when connecting with your body.

For those of you who are at the beginning of finding out about their dissociative system, or who are struggling to connect with your body, I also offer 1-2-1 Somatic Therapy sessions in person and online.
