Turtle Medical

Turtle Medical An innovative manufacturer of defibrillator cabinets, bleed control cabinets and bleed control kits and supplier of medical equipment.

Turtle Medical was founded in 2011. It is a family-run business that designs, engineers and manufactures indoor and outdoor defibrillator cabinets to bespoke specifications. In 2020 it created the UK’s first bleed control cabinet and in 2023 the first solar and wind powered defib and bleed control cabinet. The company also supplies approved medical equipment and has numerous partnerships with charities, such as the Daniel Baird Foundation. Customers include UK-wide Police, Fire and Ambulance Services and local and parish councils, as well as railway stations and stadiums like St Pancras and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium. Every element of a Turtle cabinet is manufactured in the UK and cabinets can be built to standard or bespoke specifications, meeting any branding or installation requirements and specifications linked to Listed Building status. Our defibrillator and bleed control cabinets are expertly engineered to keep the medical equipment secure and heat-regulated where required. All our cabinets are IP66 rated (fully waterproof and dustproof) and have the highest impact rating available (IK10); furthermore, we are the only company to hold this certification. Our cabinets can have remote monitoring systems added to them to allow custodians to check on the status of the cabinet at any time, giving them peace of mind about the status of the door, hook switch or temperature inside the cabinet. Registered company name: Turtle Engineering Ltd

💚 Semi-Automatic vs Fully-Automatic AED? You might be surprised by the real pros and cons.

Choosing the “right” defibrillator is not about what sounds the most advanced. It's about what helps someone act confidently when every second matters.

If you already have a defib at your workplace, club or community space, what advice would you give someone who is deciding between semi- or fully-automatic? Real experiences can help others make informed choices.

Here is what we cover in our latest blog:

✅ How both AED types analyse heart rhythm and guide the user, helping ensure correct usage regardless of experience
⚡ Why a fully-automatic AED automatically delivers the shock
👐 How a semi-automatic AED gives control to the responder
🏢 Which settings suit each type, including public spaces, workplaces, schools and remote locations

🥂 Sadly, we didn’t scoop the Innovation Award on Friday for our unique solar and wind powered defib cabinet, but happily the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards were a true celebration of business in our county.

🏆 Congratulations to Spraylat International which won our category and our table mates Equitech which was awarded the Professional Services Award.

A humble thank you, we were delighted to be selected as a finalist. With more uniquely designed and manufactured Turtle tech in beta, we might well be back in 2026 🤞

🏗️⛑️ Emergency Response Trauma Kits – tailored to the needs of a construction workforce – are now on Winvic construction Limited sites.

❤️ Committed to Doing It Right and finding new ways to raise the bar in construction safety, Winvic asked us to advise on the state-of-the-art medical equipment found in our Enhanced Public Access Trauma Kits (PAcT) and The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits. 🩸

🚑 We listened to their needs and created bespoke – and branded – rucksacks containing all the contents that can save a life in a medical emergency, including multiples of many items, like haemostatic gauze.

👷‍♂️ Thousands of people in Winvic’s team now have increased peace of mind 👷‍♀️

🩹 We were also delighted to facilitate an extensive First Aid Trauma training day for the Winvic team with Abacus Training. The session built attendee’s confidence and practical skills in immediate trauma response and hands-on first aid scenarios.

🩸 Our partnership with The Daniel Baird Foundation began 5 years ago with the new concept of a publicly accessible bleed control cabinet. We’re extremely proud that they are now commonplace.

🚨 It’s also simple to add an emergency bleed kit to any existing defibrillator cabinet and the sticker we send will signpost people to it being a dual cabinet.

And we will keep demanding 🩸

🖤 Our thoughts are with the victims and the countless people who have been affected by the violent attack on the train.

CrossCountry trains Network Rail Avanti West Coast West Midlands Railway South Western Railway Love Hull Trains and Severn Valley Railway are amongst those who have chosen to put The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits on trains and in stations.

We think it’s time for all public transport operators – including coaches and buses – to carry trauma kits as standard.

Head over to our blog to learn more about the critical kits you need in your workplace to quickly manage a hypoglycaemic episode - also known as a diabetic hypo - or a choking incident 📈🍽️

✅ Both medical emergencies can happen without warning. Both can be fatal. And both can be managed effectively if the right tools are immediately available.

Our Story

Where it started

Turtle Engineering Ltd worked closely with Cardiac Science and Community First Responder Groups to develop a safe way to store Defibrillators in publically accessible locations.

Originally designed as “all weather” cabinets to withstand the harsh outdoor conditions in the UK, the cabinets proved to be just as in demand for indoor use. This was due to their high visibility and protection of the Defibrillator equipment.

Turtle Engineering Ltd understand that each different group may have different needs from a cabinet. So we have designed them to be flexible and easily personalised; adapted to our customer’s requirement.
