Dental Issues 🦷🪥

If you’re in pain or experiencing an urgent dental issue, NHS urgent dental appointments are now available across Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent.
As part of the government’s national to deliver 700,000 additional urgent dental appointments, the Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) is expanding access to urgent dental care in your local area.

What this means?
🔹 Over 16,000 new urgent dental appointments will be made available each year across Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent
🔸 The new appointments will be provided in addition to existing NHS urgent dental care services.

These urgent slots are reserved for patients in need of immediate care, suggested as;

🔹 Severe dental pain or swelling
🔸 Infections or dental trauma
🔹 Bleeding or urgent post-treatment issues

You’ll be signposted to available appointments by contacting the Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent Advice Line on 0300 123 0981

Appointments are offered based on clinical need and availability at local dental practices who have signed up to provide addidional urgent care slots.

💉 FLU / COVID Vaccination Season 💉

Over the new few days, you may start receiving text messages or letters to invite you to book either your Flu or your COVID & Flu vaccinations.

This year, we are offering these vaccinations at either of the following locations:

Pirelli Stadium, Burton on Trent
Or
Abbots Bromley Surgery.

If you wish to book in for Pirelli, please use the link in the text message they will send you.

If you wish to book in for your vaccination at the surgery, please call our Reception.

Eligibility this year is as follows:

🔸Patients aged 75 and over = BOTH flu & COVID
🔹Patients who are immunosuppressed = BOTH flu & COVID
🔸Patients aged 65 to 74 = FLU ONLY
🔹Patients below 64 years = FLU only (subject to qualifying criteria)

🔹 Address Confirmation Messages 🔹

NHS England, supported by PCSE, may send messages to patients to confirm their home address. This is part of their regular maintenance activities.
These can be via text, email & letter.
It provides you with an opportunity to ensure your address is listed correctly across the systems the NHS holds.

Patients are selected at random for this, and it is a genuine message if you receive one.

If you do need to update your details, regardless of receiving a communication from NHS England, please give our reception team a call

❌ Dispensary Refurb Update ❌

As you’re aware, we are having a refurb to our Dispensary during the week beginning Monday 4th August.

While this takes place, we want to stress we remain OPEN for ordering & collecting repeat medication, as well as issuing acute prescriptions from the clinical team.

While we aim to keep disruption as a minimum, there are some changes to be aware of for the week, which we’ve listed below.

🔸 Collection of medication will move from the original dispensing hatch, to the window to the RIGHT hand side. We will sign post this area & also barrier out a car parking space for safety.

🔹 Parking will be limited to Disabled access only during this week. This is due to delivery vans & also trade vans completing the refurb, alongside parking spaces being coned off for the temporary collection window. We ask patients to walk if able, or park on The Crown Carpark during this week.

We hope everything runs to plan & we appreciate your patience during this time.
