Very many congratulations to my client Jane.

In the last year, she has been increasing her fitness, running further, and running faster. In the process she has successfully completed 6 distance and elevation related goals, whilst also drastically improving her 5k time!

If you’d like to work towards achieving your running goal by getting fitter, or running faster and/or further (anything from 5k to a 50k+ Ultra), then please get in touch to book a professional 1-1 training programme with a UK Athletics Running Coach (me)!

This week was our 294th virtual MNR (VMNR), and the 452nd week of MNRs. And it was great to be able to handout Halloween 666 medals to some of the participants.

The week also saw Preeti complete the One by the Canal Half Marathon in a new personal best time🥳, and 10 Dashers participated in Parkrun events.

If you'd like to do a virtual MNR (at Broadwood for an informal group run at 6.30pm on Monday, or anywhere in the world between 5pm Sunday and 11am Tuesday) please register at: https://clubspark.englandathletics.org/RunTogether/DashForFitness/Summary/e94bd0a8-3217-46e3-b32f-63f05a95a470

This week was our 293rd virtual MNR (VMNR), and the 451st week of MNRs. The week also saw 8 Dashers participating in Parkrun events, including Karin who completed her 250th – making it a double celebration as, in the same week, her daughter, and fellow Dasher, Catherine delivered a baby girl 🥳

There was a successful conclusion to the Halloween 666 challenge, with the Dashers taking part pulling out all the stops: exceeding the per person target for the week by an average of c10,000 steps; smashing the overall 6.66 million step target for October; and earning themselves pumpkin medals.

This week was our 292nd virtual MNR (VMNR), and the 450th week of MNRs. The week also saw 8 Dashers participating in Parkrun events, whilst at the Running Tribe event in Chalfont, Jaswinder completed a Marathon/Ultra, and Preeti did a 14k.

We're now in our final week of the Halloween 666 challenge and, scarily, it's touch and go as to whether we will reach the 6.66 million steps required to successfully complete the challenge. As of last Friday, we were 38,000 steps behind schedule but I'm sure the determined Dashers taking part will emerge triumphant🫰

Very many congratulations to my client Jaswinder. She did her first ever Trail Marathon/Ultra on Saturday. Testament to the fitness she has built over a number of years of training together, she was able to successfully complete the c45k distance, and c400m elevation.

If you’d like to work towards achieving your running goal by getting fitter, or running faster and/or further (anything from 5k to a 50k+ Ultra), then please get in touch to book a professional 1-1 training programme with a UK Athletics Running Coach (me)!

This week was our 291st virtual MNR (VMNR), and the 449th week of MNRs since the first in Jan 2017. The week also saw 9 Dashers participating in Parkrun events, whilst Lucy epically completed the Yorkshire Marathon, her first ever (and therefore achieved a PB!). And, at the other end of the spectrum, Shama ended the Great South 10 Mile Run vowing she'd never run another race!

In addition, since my last report: Dawn equally epically completed the Berlin Marathon (again); Beth, Claire, Dawn (again), Lauren, Rob, and Teresa ran the epic Vitality 10k; Claire (again), Jo, Karin, Maria, and Sue N did the elevated Moor Park 10k; Arunima, Iain, Judith, James (in a PB time), Preeti, and Rohit completed the Ealing Half Marathon; Beth (again) and Cliff experienced an enjoyable Cardiff HM, and Suzy T ran the electric Chicago 5k.

As per the last month (with thanks to informal group leader Jane), there will be no formal group MNR for the rest of the year but I will be at Broadwood each week (meeting at the KIngs College cafe car park) at 6.30pm, should anyone want to join an informal MNR and, in the process, complete a VMNR.

Very many congratulations to my client Roshana. Not only did she complete the Richmond Riverside Half Marathon on October 12th, but she did it in a new PB time - taking nearly 20 minutes off her previous best.

Very many congratulations to my client Danny. He completed his first ever marathon in Oslo last week, in an amazing 3:53:51. Danny only started running late last year and, having lost 5 stone, credits running as having changed his life.

Very many congratulations to my clients Anthony and Yuka. Both of whom got Personal Bests in the Richmond Marathon on Sunday - an outcome that was richly deserved after their diligent training over many months.

Last night the Dash for Fitness FREE, and open to all, group Monday Night Run (MNR) returned to Broadwood Ave (our Autumn/Winter location) for our 416th group MNR. And I got to present Fitnesships challenge medals, including special ones to the victorious Dash Glow Getter team.

This week was also our 286th virtual MNR (VMNR), and the 444th week of MNRs since the first in Jan 2017. The week also saw 8 Dashers participating in Parkrun events, whilst Suzy T got a PB in the Richmond Run Fest 10k.

For the next 4 Mondays (22/09 - 13/10) there will be no formal group MNR but Jane W will be at Broadwood each week (meeting at the KIngs College cafe car park) at 6.30pm, should anyone want to join an informal MNR and, in the process, complete a VMNR (which are continuing as normal).

Last night we held out first FREE, and open to all, group Monday Night Run (MNR) following the August break. It was our 415th overall, and it was great to welcome newbie Nadiah and returnee Smruti. We also held our 285th virtual MNR, and had a social to mark the end of MNRs at the LIdo - we'll be in Broadwood next week, meeting by the KIngs College Cafe car park for a 6.30 start.

Last week also saw 6 Dashers participating in Parkrun events with Hannah getting a Rickmansworth Parkrun PB and her 4th fastest 5k ever, whilst Dawn and Ken took on and completed the Big Half. We also announced a spooky Halloween 666 challenge for October - where we collectively need to do 6.66 million steps!

At the social we held a quiz all about Ruislip Lido, as well as a challenge involving sorting into the correct order, the below jumbled up set of pictures of things you can see as you go around the LIdo clockwise (starting at the first gate in on Reservoir Road). Get in touch if you want to see the unscrambled set of pictures!

Since our last post, our August break from Dash for Fitness group Monday Night Runs (MNRs) has come to an end, and we held our 283rd and 284th Virtual MNR (can be done anywhere in the world between 5pm Sunday and 11am Tuesday).

And, in addition to those participating in Parkrun events, Dawn, Ken, Maria, and Preeti completed the Asics LDNX 10k🥳, whilst Suzy T walked the 109 mile Cleveland Way, racking up c4,400m of elevation (more than climbing Ben Nevis THREE times!!!)💪

The other big happening was that all the teams of four that participated in our Fitnesships medal challenge completed enough of the right activities (or in some cases all 64 activities) to find the 5 fitness related words hidden in the 8x8 grid of fitness activities👏

The group MNR will restart on Monday (8th Sep), and here are 10 reasons why you should attend:
* It's FREE
* It's open to everyone
* It's the first after the August break
* It's the last of the year at the Lido
* We'll be trialling a 6.30pm start (meet from 6.15pm)
* You can walk, run, or run/walk
* It's motivational and fun to run/walk together
* There's a social afterwards (from 7.30pm)
* There are medals for Fitnesshippers
* Without participants there will be no group MNR

If you'd like to join the group MNR (or the Virtual MNR) please register here: https://groups.runtogether.co.uk/DashForFitness
