takes place annually on 1st December to stand up for those impacted by HIV past and present and call for a better future. By wearing the iconic red ribbon, you are joining a community that shows solidarity with those living with HIV.

The vast majority of people are aware and have been diagnosed with AIDS but this means that around 1 in 16 people living with HIV in the UK do not know that they have the virus, according to the National Aids Trust.

This makes it extra important to get tested and catch it early so you can be easily treated.

Cervical screening saves lives!

A cervical screening or a smear test as it’s commonly known is a simple procedure for women over the age of 25 which helps identify early signs of cervical cancer.

This makes it really important to get your screening. So, if you’re aged 25-65 make sure you don’t ignore your invitation letter.

Transgender Awareness Week is a one-week celebration leading up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance which commemorates those to have fallen victim to transphobic violence.

We believe that no one should have to worry about their s*xual and reproductive health. Support and treatment, without stigma or judgement, should be available to everyone.

PrEP is a preventative medication against HIV. When taken as prescribed, it has proven extremely effective in stopping contracting the disease.

According to the Wellbeing of Women, around one third of the female population in the UK are currently peri or fully menopausal. As we celebrate World Menopause Day, we want women to know that we’re here for you.

We know this can be a scary stage, but our Sexual Health Hubs are the perfect place for advice on those symptoms to look for and how to best deal with them.

The term ‘Sexual Health’ is widely regarded as just maintaining your physical health and the possible effects of unsafe s*x. However, it actually covers mental, social and emotional wellbeing as well and these can be negatively affected by our s*xual lives.

According to Breast Cancer UK, there are around 56,000 new cases of breast cancer every year: that’s over 150 cases every day.

Like other cancers, breast cancer is most easily treated when found early. Checking your breasts regularly helps you spot any changes quickly.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’d love for you to remember the TLC method- touch, look, check:

Touch your breasts – can you feel anything unusual?
Look at your breasts – are there any changes to shape or texture?
Check anything unusual with your doctor.

This year’s theme from leading s*xual health charity Brook is called ‘Chronically Online’ which looks into how the latest technology and social media shape our opinions on s*x and relationships but also about integrating digital aspects alongside face-to-face s*xual health services.
