Weekend Dining Room Assistant Vacancy.

Rustington Hall Nursing Home is welcoming applications for a Weekend Dining Room Assistant

Shift patterns are 7:30am -12:30pm Saturday and Sunday, the job outline includes:.

Serving food and drink to Residents
Recording menu choices
Maintaining a clean and tidy dining area.
Adhering to infection control and food hygiene standards
working within a team, with people skills and understanding of others roles
Interacting with service users to ensure quality assurance in regards to dietary intake
working within a timeframe to deliver a service.
Catering experience advantageous, but not essential

Hi all Sammy here.

We have just returned from the hosted in Birmingham. As you know I was awarded the reginal winner in November and was very lucky to be recognized with the highly commended award during last nights event.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for the support, kind words and believing in me.
To all the residents and relatives I have cared for and continue to care for. Thank you for trusting me with your loved ones.

A massive thank you to everyone i work with and for taking the time out to come to Birmingham with me. It means a lot

The awards are being held in Birmingham with the Rustington Hall Team, Committee Members and Resident Families in attendance. Sammy provides invaluable support to Residents, Families and Friends of Rustington Hall and regardless of award we recognize all of the hard work that is put into ensuring those within our care get outstanding treatment/experiences and she will always be a winner to us!. Rustington Hall is proud to announce that team member Sammy Hydes has been named the winner of the Palliative Care/End of Life Award at the Great British Care Regional Awards.

Recognising exceptional commitment and compassion within the care sector, the award celebrates individuals who provide outstanding support to people approaching the end of life.

After progressing to the final judging stage and taking part in an in-depth interview with a representative from the awards panel, Sammy attended the ceremony, together with a couple of relatives and other staff members, at the Brighton Metropole on 14th November.

Sammy is widely admired for her warmth, empathy, and unwavering commitment to those in her care. She has supported many residents in fulfilling their final wishes, helping families create treasured memories during the most sensitive moments of life. Her approach is rooted in deep respect and compassion, offering comfort, dignity and heartfelt support to every individual.

Her ability to bring peace, fulfilment and humanity to end-of-life care is extraordinary. This award is incredibly well-deserved, and we could not be more proud.

As a winner of the regional awards, Sammy will now be entered into the National awards with the event to take place at the end of February 2026.

Rustington Hall extends its heartfelt congratulations to Sammy for this outstanding achievement and recognition of her exceptional contribution to care.
