19 guys attended MENding minds tonight, two of which were first timers.
We love seeing this group get bigger and better every week. Nothing expected of the men, just enjoying one another’s company,a game of darts or dominos and tonight a wee munch from the chippy.
A few of us are pushing on with the men’s shed build every day after work and it’s coming on a treat. Flooring has been bought ready to be fitted once the ceiling and walls have their finish complete. Numbers are swelling week on week too so be good having the extra space. Don’t think the current space could take every member showing up at the same time.
If you’re seeing these posts more regularly and wonder what the group is like please come along and be welcomed in. We are here for men of all ages,from all walks of life.
We’re building something worthwhile and permanent where men can be themselves,a safe space where if they so wish they can share their problems and hopefully resolve them with the help of the group. We help our men find work, Proper benefits advice if they are unable to work,Signposting to mental heath services if needed….Anything we can do to let men know they’re not alone with their troubles. Give us a try you won’t regret it.

15 Minds MENded tonight with a wellness walk around Rutherglen. 5k which was just enough. Wee bit of training for the kiltwalk coming up in April for us.
Welcomed along another first timer Mohammed tonight and when I asked how he found us he said his friend showed him a video which was shared online. It just goes to show social media works. We thank you all for the continuing supporting with shares of our posts. Always say this but it really could be saving someone’s life and you don’t even know it so thank you.
Next Tuesday will be the normal meet in the highbacks to plan some things for the upcoming better weather and lighter nights. Pop along and join us.

Group are meeting tonight at the high backs gates around 6:45 we will be going a wellness walk around the local area. Everyone welcome along. If you have been hesitant in coming because it’s daunting to you meeting lots of guys you don’t know for the first time today may be the ideal opportunity as it will be in a different setting to the norm.
I’ve spoken to a couple of potential newcomers this week who I will copy and paste then private message this to also. We hope to see you there.

Yesterday and today seen the culmination of the men’s shed build. We finally got the walls insulated and sheeted ready for filling and painting. Also pulled cables for sockets which will be professionally installed by the spark we used previously.
Can see the result videos in the comments below. Many thanks to everyone involved. Looking forward to having many a good time with you all in our new home once it’s 100% complete.

Thirteen misfits in total tonight. What an absolute giggle we had I really needed that. Big thanks to John The Sportsman Bar for signposting James our newcomer to us. James made the first move by reaching out to our Facebook messenger and we welcomed him to his first meet tonight which he said he thoroughly enjoyed. Anyone reading this feel free to do the same if you think someone you know may benefit from our group.
Shout out to Raju Gaire and Kumar Raj for the lovely food from big bites also. Hovis nose a good munch when he sees it. 😉
We have been kindly donated a mobility scooter that we have to have some work done to before allowing it to be used for our members and also other The High Backs users who may be struggling with mobility that would otherwise have to miss out on events like our wellness walks. This group is going from strength to strength and will only continue to expand with the better weather coming in.
You all make me look forward to my Tuesday evening that was absolutely some buzz.
Anyone thinking of taking the plunge and coming along. I urge you…Do it once. If it’s not for you then at least you tried. We’re trying to make life better for men of all ages by just being there for one another.

Tonight we were supposed to attend the Glencairn v Auchinleck Talbot game at the Hamish B Allan stadium but this was unfortunately postponed.
Instead 12 of us braved the cold for a wellness walk around the local area. One of our members did especially well to turn up and complete the walk given he has ligament damage so well done to Hovis tonight.
