"I don’t know who needs to hear this, but
attachment parenting in a detached society is exhausting.
No. It’s not your baby.
There is nothing wrong with them if they want to be held all the time.
No. It’s not you.
You’re not doing it wrong.
Your feelings of exhaustion and depletion and being touched out are normal- considering the weight you’re carrying. Those feelings, and the deep ache underneath them - are a reminder that you were never meant to do this alone.
Babies want to be held. And we want to hold them close. Exclusive/extended breastfeeding, cosleeping, babywearing - all of these are intuitive, ancestral practices that have kept our species alive throughout history. Attachment parenting is just parenting!!
But never before have we parented in such isolation. There were always other hands stirring the soup pot, other aunties, and sisters, and uncles and grandmas, and cousins, and neighbors helping with the daily tasks and child rearing. Other arms carrying the weight of raising humanity. Together.
And now, it’s just you. Alone in the kitchen, trying to stir the soup and bounce the baby and play with the toddler and keep an eye on the big kid and answer the phone and sweep up the mess and tackle the laundry and .....
No matter how magical your baby wrap is — it can’t take the place of a whole village.
So no, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re just trying to stay connected in a world set on tearing you apart.
But don’t give up mama. I know you’re tired and touched out, but you’re giving your baby exactly what she needs. And maybe one day, when she’s raising her own babies, there will be a village around her, helping her hold it all together."

Last week saw a wonderful evening welcoming back this lovely couple for a refresher class for baby number 2. It was so good to see you both again, this time in Clavering, and it feels amazing to be back teaching classes again. Harriett and Alex had an elective C Section for their first birth due to changes during pregnancy. Both mum and dad used all their Hypnobirthing tools and came away from their birth feeling they’d had the most positive experience, one in which they felt calm, relaxed and fully prepared for their babies birth. I am so happy for you both and cannot wait to hear your news soon ☺️🤰🏻💜 ###

I thought this would be a great time to reintroduce myself to any new followers and after a years break concentrating on a new career alongside my Hypnobirthing work, and supporting mums to be.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lynn, and I am mum to 11year old twins Maisie & Miley and our very own hypno’baby Ruby. I am a Hypnobirthing instructor, ante natal educator and breastfeeding peer support worker. I have been teaching Hypnobirthing, pregnancy relaxation and birth preparation classes for over 10 years, as well as confident breastfeeding classes, mainly in Hertford and more recently from my new teaching space at our home in Clavering.

I have been honoured to support many mums to be, birth partners and new mums over the years and feel touched by every story along the way.

It feels so good to be back after a year away ☺️💝
Working in the office at my children’s school by day, and teaching my classes in the evenings, feels like the perfect combination and I feel very lucky.

Today is world Hypnobirthing day ☺️💜🤰🏻

Hypnobirthing has brought me so much joy over the years. Not only have I been lucky enough to experience 2, very different, but incredible births myself, but I have had the absolute honour of being on some incredible Hypnobirthing journeys with my Mums-to-be and their birth partners too.

Natural birth, c-section birth, home birth, hospital birth, water birth, perfect birth, birth plan gone out the window birth 🙈. Hypnobirthing is here to help you prepare for any situation while teaching you the most incredible breathing and relaxation techniques to enjoy during pregnancy as much as helping you stay focused and in control during Labour and birth.

HUGE congratulations Vickie and Tom on the birth of absolutely gorgeous baby Poppy 💝
I feel so privileged to have had Vickie & Tom back, this time preparing for their 2nd baby with a lovely refresher class 🥰 You absolutely smashed it again mummy.

In mummy Vickie’s own words:

‘Hi Lynn, I’m just spreading the good news ❤️ Poppy Jayne Owen was born on 21st Feb at 5:13am. I was 39 weeks, I had an induction and no pain relief 😅 in the pool like Grace, but all strapped up this time though. I could not have got through it without my breathing techniques we learnt.’

Vickie always pops along to my coffee mornings with Poppy’s beautiful big sister Grace and I cannot wait to see you all back soon and to meet baby Poppy 🥰💝 So, so happy for you all ###

My new teaching space is almost ready to welcome my mummies-to-be and birth partners back when restrictions allow 🎉🎉🎉 Just a few pictures to go up and a few thousand candles 😁😁😁 (those who know me, know 🙈) here and there and we’ll be ready.

It’s so cosy in there my husband has booted me out and I’m teaching this evenings Zoom class elsewhere 😏🤷🏻‍♀️🙈 xx
