During hypnosis sessions I will often use the imagery of a present.

A beautifully wrapped gift.

This is to support a client to both name what it is they really want in life

And to help them shift into a place of being able to receive that gift.

Often people start small.

A favourite perfume.

A box of chocolates.

A book they've always wanted to read.

Slowly they will open up to the gift being more.

Perhaps a deeply felt desire.

Maybe a 'tucked away' dream.

You don't even have to share with me what your gift is.

This is about allowing your mind to open up to the infinite possibilities of the gift of life

And to be ready to embrace all that you desire and deserve. ❤️

Social media is made to be addictive.

People are paid a lot of money to keep you addicted to your phone.

Addicted to social media.

Addicted to the physical high and the human need for curiosity and connection.

The good news is you don’t have to go ‘cold turkey’.

It’s just a matter of becoming more conscious of what you are using your phone for and why.

It’s a matter of changing habits

Of being able to switch off those addictive pathways in your brain that have been deliberately activated by those that want your time, energy and attention.

If you are happy to give away so much of yourself in that way then that’s all fine

But I am seeing more and more people in my clinic now

Who realise they are addicted to their phones

People who realise that they feel panicky when they don’t have their phones with them

People who can’t go more than an hour without checking facebook or Instagram

People who realise that despite being connected virtually all day long they actually feel very lonely and disconnected

This little book – ‘How to break up with your phone’ by Catherine Price really opened my mind to how we are deliberately manipulated into spending as much time as possible on our phones.

It is full of eye-opening research and shocking results as to how we are all deliberately manipulated.

Hypnotherapy is such a powerful way to help eliminate addictions and it’s success with mobile phone use and specifically social media addiction is on the increase.

What do you love doing? ❤️

I recently began keeping a notebook filled with lists of all the things I love doing.

Every day for a month I wrote down ten things that I love.

I love reading.

I love going out for meals.

I love watching films.

I love going for walks.

It was such an interesting exercise to do.

I realised how little I was including the things that I love in my everyday life.

I noticed that there were some things I hadn't done for years.

And there were some things that were on the list every single day.

So I'm guessing I love those things a lot! 🥰

And there was one thing that kept popping up that I've never even done!!

So now when I'm feeling a bit disconnected from my life I have a look at the lists.

And choose something to include in my life.

When we are busy it's so easy to lose connection with who we are and what we love.

The things that make us happy.

The things that make us feel like us. ❤️

And the thing I am yet to do........

Climbing!

So I will be booking a climbing wall session very soon! 😍

Who would you choose to sit with you on this bench?

They could be still in your life right now.

Or perhaps someone you used to know.

Perhaps they have already passed away.

What would your conversation be?

Or perhaps you would sit in silence just embracing each others company one more time.

Whether a relationship has ended through death, divorce or otherwise there are often conversations left in the air.

Things you wish you had said.

Things you wish you could have heard them say.

Grieving and bereavement comes to us in many ways.

Perhaps we are grieving a part of ourselves.

Perhaps you would like to share this bench with that part of yourself?

Through the hypnotherapy process I support those conversations.

Both in and out of hypnosis there are many ways that we can support ourselves to release whatever we no longer need.

Most of us tend to hold on to old thoughts and responses way beyond their sell by date.

We use these old patterns to influence how we experience the world around us in the here and now.

And then we wonder why we are not able to achieve the abundant life we so deserve.

Some of these old patterns have become so entrenched that it would take years to untangle them.

We can't even name which bits we want to get rid of and which bits we want to keep.

And that is where the beauty of hypnotherapy comes in.

In hypnosis you don't have to name what you need to release.

Your sub-conscious mind knows exactly what needs to go and what needs to stay.

In my self-hypnosis practice I've been saying farewell to those things that are no longer benefitting me by visualising little paper boats sailing off into the sunset.

Each time I place a boat on the water I use the words 'whatever I am ready to release that no longer serves me, may it sail away.'

And I watch the little boats sail away.

Afterwards I feel lighter.

More open hearted.

More at peace.

More me.
