Social Prescribing Day - Thursday 26th March 2026👥

What is ?

Social Prescribing Day is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen. Since 2019, thousands of local, national and international organisations, link workers, medical professionals, academics and students have taken part across the world.

Our Social Prescriber, Judith will be running an open session for patients for Social prescribing day. She will be focusing mostly on; Loneliness, Financial Inclusion and Mental Health - issues which she has identified that cause people stress and anxiety to seek medical intervention that may not have been necessary if these issues were addressed earlier.

Judith will be available in our downstairs waiting area between 11am -3pm.

She will give a brief talk to explain the service we offer and how she can assist patients and carers.

We’re looking for a friendly, organised, and patient-focused Patient Care Advisor to join our award-winning GP surgery team 💙

This is a front-facing role supporting our patients and clinical team, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and making a real difference to patient care.

🕗 Shifts between 8:00am–6:30pm (some flexibility available)

Previous admin or customer-facing experience is essential. NHS or healthcare experience is desirable but not required.

Today we say goodbye and Happy Retirement to two Maltings stalwarts.

Nurse Helen Cullen has been at The Maltings Surgery for 35 years caring for generations of patients in our community, known for her kind nature and compassion.

Alison Watts has been with us 28 years as a notes summariser, meticulously making sure medical records are kept up to date.

We are grateful for their dedication and loyal service over the years and will really miss these special siblings who have been at the core of our team for so long.

Easter Bank Holiday Opening Hours

The Maltings Surgery will be closed over the upcoming Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. Pre booked appointments on Saturday 19th April will go ahead as planned. Our online forms and phone lines will reopen as usual on Tuesday 22nd April.

Please refer to the information below for advice on the most appropriate service to contact should you need support when we are closed.
