Resident doctors, formally known as junior doctors, will be on strike from 7am Friday 14th November until 7am Wednesday 19th November. This shouldn't impact our prebooked appointments but we will have fewer 'on the day' and 'within a few days' appointments available until the strike is over on Wednesday as our resident doctors on placement may be striking. Please continue to contact us for medical concerns whilst the strike is ongoing, but be aware we may signpost more patients to urgent care and emergency medical services and waiting times for their services may be longer.

This Remembrance Day, we encourage all GP practices to become Veteran Friendly Accredited to support veterans who may be silently struggling with their mental or physical health at this potentially challenging time.
Research by the Royal College of GPs involving 5,000 veterans found that, although more than half (55%) have experienced health issues potentially related to their service, one in seven (14%) have not sought help from a healthcare professional.
However, nearly two-thirds of veterans said they would be more likely to seek help if they knew their practice was Veteran Friendly Accredited. Having taken the quick and easy step to become accredited ourselves, we have seen first-hand the difference it can make.
The free training and resources provided through the scheme have made it easier for us to identify, understand and support veterans and, where appropriate, refer them to specialist services designed specifically for them. Not only has the programme helped us to improve outcomes for our veteran patients, but it has also helped to save time and reduce repeat appointments.
It takes just 20 minutes to sign up, and more than 4,400 practices have already joined the scheme. A University of Chester evaluation found that 99% of practices recommended it.

📢A big shout out to our nurses and vaccinators as we close on our first week for Flu vaccine season. Our first Saturday vaccine clinic last weekend went off with a hitch, almost 400 patients were vaccinated against Flu and Covid ahead of the cold winter season. ❄️

We still have appointments available for Flu and/or Covid jabs. Call our team to book in if you haven't already! 📞

This week a handful or our GP Partners and our Practice Manager attended Best Practice Birmingham! ✨🏙️

Best Practice is a biannual 2-day conference all about the future of General Practice in the UK. The event is packed full of educational talks on improving health care, running a better GP practice and what lies ahead for practice staff and patients. The event boast over 200 exhibitors showcasing products designed with general practice in mind, from products we already use like Accurx, our messaging and online consult software, and Healthtech-1, our registrations provider, to new and exiting products aiming to improve efficiencies and patient care!
Not to mention all the fab freebies! 🖊️🛍️

We hope the team who went along have had a fab time, learnt something new and will come back inspired to help us help our patients! 🧑‍⚕️

Our Patient Participation Group will be having its next meeting on Thursday 6th November at 7pm. This time we are trying something new and hosting this meeting online!
So any patient can log in from the comfort of their home without have to trek out into the cold evening to participate!

💻The meeting will be held on teams and the link to sign up can be scanned from the post, a poster around the practice or found in a message sent to our registered PPG members.
