We wanted to say a huge congratulations to our Care Worker Liaison Officer Alix who is getting married today!

Alix has been a valued member of the Abbots Care team for 9 years, starting as a Care Coordinator before transitioning into her current role, where she offers support and guidance to our Care Workers in the field.

We hope the big day goes smoothly and that you and Sam have a wonderful time! 🎉

At Abbots Care, we’ve been supporting people at home since 1995.

We’re proud to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission in Hertfordshire, and to work alongside ICBs including Hertfordshire and West Essex, Essex, Dorset, and Bedfordshire.
With mergers and changes happening across ICBs, many teams are managing increased demand while maintaining consistent care.
We can support you with:
• Hospital discharge
• Complex care
• Visiting care
• Live in care
• Care coordination, including during legal claims

We also work with people with spinal cord injuries in partnership with the Spinal Injuries Association, as well as those with brain injuries and other complex needs.
If your team is under pressure or navigating change, we’re here to support.

We are delighted to announce that we have reached the finals of the HCPA Care Awards 2026!

We have been included in the 'Most Innovative Homecare Team' category. This is a reflection of developments such as the ELK cushion pilot scheme, the second year of our Tackling Loneliness Campaign, and our Care Worker chat bot, introduced to reduce phone waiting times and increase time efficiency.

We are looking forward to the ceremony on the 26th June! 🌟

Yesterday we said farewell to Kim, who has been part of the Abbots Care team for 15 years.

From Community Facilitator, to Care Monitoring Officer and a multitude of different roles inbetween, Kim seriously did it all!

We are immensely grateful for her contribution to Abbots Care, having supported the company for half of its 30-year lifetime! We wish her all the best in the future.

Thank you Kim!

Birdie Care CEO Max Parmentier asked us if he could experience a care shift to really understand what being a Care Worker is like... so we said yes!

Max joined our Care Worker Mohammed as he completed his daily care calls, seeing the different kinds of support we offer to our clients.

It was fantastic having Max with us for the day, we hope the experience was insightful!

For her dedication to the health and social care sector, our CEO Camille Leavold received her MBE last week at Windsor Castle.

We are incredibly proud of her unwavering passion and leadership as Abbots Care recently celebrated its 30th Birthday.

Camille was awarded her MBE by HRH Prince William alongside brilliant company including the actor Warwick Davies and England Lioness Alex Greenwood. Camille was particularly impressed by His Royal Highness’s knowledge of the care sector and the realities facing care planning teams.

She is pictured proudly outside the castle with her award and her mum Stephanie, one of Abbots Care's original co-founders.

Today our CEO Camille Leavold will receive her MBE in recognition of her service and dedication to the social care sector.

Under her leadership, Abbots Care has spent 30 years supporting people in the community. What began in 1995 as a small family run business has grown into one of Hertfordshire’s leading home care providers, rated Outstanding by the CQC for the third consecutive time.

Camille’s ethos has always been to champion the adult social care sector as a whole. Growing up in a family deeply committed to care, she developed first hand experience from an early age and has since gone on to represent the sector on industry panels and as a non-executive board member of the Homecare Association.

"When we started Abbots Care in 1995, it felt natural to focus on care, compassion and service. With a lot of enthusiasm and very little investment, Abbots Care was up and running. What began as a family of three care workers supporting a handful of people, has grown into something I now barely recognise. I am overwhelmed by the number of caring people who work here and the support we are able to deliver to more than 1,000 people in the community."

Congratulations Camille on building something truly outstanding 🎉

We reached our goal! 🌟

Over 100 hours of voluntary companionship delivered to members of our community, and we couldn't be prouder.

Winter can be a really challenging time. The shorter days and the colder weather often exacerbate feelings of loneliness, so for the second year in a row, our central support team and care workers delivered over 100 hours of voluntary companionship.

One of our core company values is 'recruiting caring people' and to complete such an amazing project, that has benefitted the lives of so many people this winter, is a testament to this value in action 💙

Thanks to everyone that took part to help us reach our goal.
