Research by the University of Liverpool has found evidence that the replacement of the ‘Sick Note’ in 2010 to the ‘Fit Note, has resulted in fewer people taking long term sick leave of 12 or more weeks. Recently there have been changes to the requirements for signing the fit note. See the gov.uk guidance for these changes and how you can get the most from the fit note to help employees return to work as soon as possible which is good for them and employers.
