This is Maria and the story of her journey so far with CTC 🧡

“Having been involved in other voluntary medical fields, and being a very sociable person, I felt very drawn towards event medical cover.

After realising that I would need to do additional training to pursue this, I did my FREC 3 with CTC earlier this year. It opened up a new world of opportunity - I've just started doing event medical cover work and absolutely love it.

It's a great opportunity to work with other like-minded individuals who thrive on helping those in need. This work also fits in exceptionally well with my other career as a life coach due iit's flexibility and the choice to work when I want.

It fulfils my need for variety as events are spread far and wide, so it's also a great chance to see new locations and meet new people.

It has fuelled my passion to learn more, and I have already booked onto the CTC FREC 4 course as the rewards for doing FREC 3 have been so great.

I can't wait to learn more and implement my learnings. I am a firm believer in constantly growing as individuals, and doing the FREC 3 course has allowed me to grow in so many ways and experience many new things. I find event work exciting and rewarding and I am looking forward to bringing much more of it into my life.”

Our team have had a fantastic week providing medical cover for our local Regatta Week.

Fantastic carnival costumes, great community events and a lot of fun for locals 🙌🏻

We are lucky to work with such a fantastic team.

Our medics have been supporting events from Penzance to Plymouth over the last few weeks.

We have had the opportunity to work with fantastic event organisers and also find time to complete hands on CPD and develop our skills.

A great weekend providing medical cover for British Cycling national championships, cross country (mountain bike).

The first half day was spent with track familiarisation followed with some practice drills on extraction techniques on some challenging sections of the course.

Events this week ✨

We had the pleasure of providing medical cover on the water for a gig rowing event in Devon

The sun shone and the team were great. The strength and determination of gig rowers is incredible to see 👏🏻

We’ve also been supporting graduation events this week celebrating the success of local University Students. The team came home with some lovely flowers too! 💐

Today starts a busy weekend of medical cover for a biking event, more to come on this next week 🚲

What an honour it was supporting Children's Hospice South West with medical cover at the Ride for Precious Lives event this weekend.

112 cyclists, cycled 205 miles over 3 days on some of the hottest days of the year raising money for this wonderful charity.

Quote from one of our medics Sue “I saw some real bravery, strength, and determination. We did our best to help them get to the finish line. It's been an honour and a pleasure.”
