Strength - the capacity of an object to withstand great force or pressure.
Surely that is every single one of us.

Recently at the Cornwall Business Show I had this very strength test on my business stand, a challenge that was a test of strength, willpower and mindset to stay in a static hold position that is the squat hold.

Your challenge for today is while boiling the kettle to make that morning tea or coffee is to get into that squat position, thighs parallel to the floor, back nice and straight with your shoulders over your hips…..and hold.

Trust me this will burn those muscles and make you stronger.

So crack that static hold every day for a week and watch how much better you become.

Strong is the new beautiful 🔥

Back on stage tomorrow, time to write and reflect. 🔥💪🏻

Cold to touch, hard as steel
The possessive power of the iron I feel.
The hypnotic control she has on me,
The continued discipline has to be.

The reps, the sets I count them all,
Bowing to barriers I will not fall.
Through the gears I constantly shift,
The compound move, the compound lift.

The sculptor at work I chisel away,
Like a sapling in the breeze I will not sway.
It’s another peak I need to climb,
A mountain to conquer one at a time.

Just like the barbell I will not bend,
Mental wellbeing will transcend.
For I will win and be my best,
Beat the challenge, the ultimate test.

This is my daily commitment to being a little bit better today than I was yesterday. Having that extreme faith in myself, my vision because tomorrow waits, waits for me to see the next mountain to conquer.

I can’t lie!

This week has been a tough one for me and yes it has been all of my own making, but that doesn’t stop the process being a true battle of wills. The fight against hunger and tiredness has been monumental.

Like any task we set ourselves there are times when the demands are great and we just can’t seem to find a way to get through the brain fog that tells us to just stop.

I have used both reflection and visualisation as a tool to help me cope with that internal stress.

Visualisation for me trains both my body and mind for success. A technique that involves creating images of positive mental outcomes, which not only enhances my confidence but also reduces the stress and anxiety that is created by myself.

I now switch my focus to physical and mental strength and performance, to reprogram my subconscious thoughts, create my own inspiration and build the mental fortitude needed to achieve my goal and that is to step on stage as my best version ever.

What do you do in times of stress and struggle, when the road just seems to be always uphill and no end in sight. How do you win that internal battle.

Now is the time to be in the moment and make it happen.

Find that quiet place, relax and breathe as you create that vivid image. Engage your emotions, feel your senses of achieving your goal, let the feelings of success fill you with pride and determination.

8 volunteers needed to trial my new Activate Your Awesome Wellbeing and Fitness journal.

This is a 6 week plan where you can track your daily intention with habit and mindset as well as logging daily exercise as you go.

Saturday sets your Goal setting and habit tracker to help build momentum.

Sunday allows reset and reflection where you create space to pause.

The Power of Presence Before the Stage

Just before stepping under those bright lights on Sunday for my BNBF bodybuilding show everything went quiet.

No crowd. No noise. No future. No past.
Just this moment.

It’s a razor’s edge — the place where preparation meets opportunity.
Every rep, every set, every meal, every early morning…..all condensed into one sharp point of focus.

In that instant, I wasn’t thinking about winning or losing. I was becoming the vision I’d been working toward for months if not years.

This is what I love about bodybuilding — and about life. The ability to step into the present, to own it fully, and to let that presence shape the outcome.

We often think success is about the big moment itself. But in truth, it’s about cultivating the focus, discipline, and clarity before that moment — so when it arrives, you’re not just ready… you’re already living it.

Wherever you are today, remember: your vision becomes real the moment you choose to be fully in it.

💪 Have the mindset and use the discipline to bring the vision to reality.
