The Children and Young People Services (CYPS) Scrutiny Committee's task group wants to hear your thoughts on the current state of school SEND provision.
It is crucial that parent carers voices are heard so please join us.

Recognising that the growth in the number of children and young people diagnosed with SEND alongside reduced funding has increased pressure on schools in the Borough to be able to meet all of the needs of pupils with SEND, the St Helens Council CYPS Scrutiny Committee have established a task & finish group to review school places for pupils with SEND.

The purpose of the review is to:

▪assess the current state of SEND provision in the Borough,

▪consider whether it is meeting the needs of pupils with SEND,

▪establish the challenges and barriers to improving the provision of suitable support for all pupils with SEND

▪consider what actions can be taken to address the challenges/barriers that exist.

Following completion of the review, a report recommending actions that can be taken will be presented to the CYPS Scrutiny Committee to agree and then submitted to Cabinet for consideration.

The meeting will start at 6.30pm prompt.

We are here at Pride Of St Helens Awards
2 of our groups are up for an award! Congratulations Becky Hannan from Toddler Sense Wigan and St Helens and Matt from Come Together !
Matt has been with us at Wonderland since the beginning and has been a core part of our family since the doors opened. It has been amazing watching how he has changed and grown helping the homeless around St Helens.
Becky joined us over 2 years ago and has since become a vital part of our family. She has grown and inspired all who walk through the doors with a smile and positive aura.

This week in all of our sessions we've been focussing on SLOWING DOWN ☺️☺️☺️

Moving SLOWLY.... focussing on our breathing so that it naturally slows down on its own. Feeling into our bodies. Noticing with curiosity. Tuning in with what our bodies need. Allowing our bodies and minds to settle.

This is the time of year when nature all around us is doing just that. It's what our bodies and minds need too.

If you feel like you and your family could benefit from some of that, our final family yoga for children with SEND takes place next week (Tuesday the 2nd December at 6pm at Wonderland Community Centre CIC) It was wonderful to meet some new friends this week and next week is drop in too, so a great time to try yoga out for just £2 pp ☺️💜 come and join us and find some moments of peace.

Coffee Evening – This Week!

Join us for our next Parent Carer Coffee Evening on Tuesday 25th November, 6:30–8:00pm 💬

It’s a relaxed space for parent carers of children and young people (aged 0–25) with SEND to come together, share experiences, and chat with others who understand.

Whether you’ve been before or it’s your first time, you’ll be made very welcome.
Come along for a brew, a friendly chat, and the chance to have your voice heard.
Time: 6:30–8:00pm

Already we have over 40 people booked for Christmas eve free Xmas dinners for people who will be on their own who will have no one to enjoy the festive season with🌲🎅

This Year we cant pick people up and drop off as we struggle to order taxis on Christmas day but hopefully next year we can get a mini bus.

We have been asked for meals for the hole family this is something we can't do sorry but there is charities given out Christmas food hampers if anyone knows of any please tag to help. 🎅
