Chinese/Lunar New Year 2026

🐉 What better way to learn about the customs and traditions of 🇨🇳 Chinese New Year 🇨🇳(also knows as Lunar New Year) than immersing ourselves in the street dancing festival at Liverpool ONE today 🐉

🐻 Our setting mascot Paddington Bear was at the heart of the festival, listening to the beat of the drums, looking at the colourful outfits and dresses in the parade, and watching the dragon dance in awe 🐻

🦺We take road safety very seriously here at Simply Early Years and ensure our little ones are kept safe at all times when we are on or near the road.

✨Our first ‘Little Beach Buddies’ beach clean was a success ✨

✅ A big thank you to our older Holiday Club helpers for showing our younger learners how to use our child-friendly litter pickers for the first time ✅

🌊 We wrapped up warm and kept our bodies moving to combat the chilly sea breeze 🌊

🌎 What a great way to feel that we’re making a difference to our planet! 🌎

🎨 One of my personal favourites so far this year - pumpkin painting at our favourite care home 🎨

🧺 The children were such gorgeous helpers - taking out the pumpkins, paints and paint brushes from our playroom basket and passing them to our beautiful friends 🧺

✨ Our friends were happy for us to take photos of their pumpkins, which will be printed and added to our ‘Celebrations’ scrap book. This special book goes home with the children every so often, to share their thoughts, feeling and memories with family and friends ✨

🎃 What better way to enjoy the build up of Halloween than real life visits to the pumpkin patch?! 🎃

✋🏻 The dropping temperatures and rain showers didn’t stop us, now we’re equipt with our lovely warm waterproofs! The children couldn’t wait to get out into the field and gets hands on. We visited numerous times to help build on our prior learning - using our senses to help us explore different colours, sizes, shapes and weight ✋🏻

🚂 We were fortunate to ride the railway line on some of our visits, enjoying a magical Halloween ride together 🚂

🌊 Our first recent exploration of our favourite beach the other week in preparation for our sustainability efforts - beach cleans 🌊

🐚 We immersed ourselves in the local area, taking in more than just the sea air! We had the best time, working together to collect native items found along the beach. The children were introduced to our beach guide books, that will help us learn the correct terminology for indigenous objects found along the shoreline 🐚

🗣️ Towards the end of our trip, we sat together to take in the view. We discussed the importance of keeping our beach clean, so others can enjoy it as much as we do 🗣️

💭 Throughout our beach visit, the children were provided with open ended questions to extend their language and critical thinking skills. We made links to our previous experiences of the beach - with the children questioning where the ice cream van had gone (from earlier, warmer months) 💭

🎃 Our first annual Pumpkin Painting Party was a big success this morning 🎃

🎨 We absolutely love having the opportunity to spend quality time with the children that are currently in our care, and also catch up with our gorgeous littles ones that no longer come to us 🎨

🌎 Here at Simply Early Years we are decidated to making a difference to our beautiful world. We have seen the admirable work of Beach Buddies Isle of Man and want to do something similar 🌎

🚸 It is a mission of ours to highlight the importance of taking care of our local natural environments so that we can maintain and protect it for future generations 🚸

🌊 Our pledge to make a difference involves our lovely little ones and our fabulous childminder network. Every other week (weather permitting), we will be joined by Happy Bees Childcare and Lisa Byron Childcare to do a beach clean of our favourite North West beach 🌊
