I feel very comfortable in Nina’s class. No two sessions are the same. Each class has a unique purpose which Nina explains and takes great care to be sure each of us are in the right positions to benefit the most.
The main reason I go and always look forward to Monday mornings is the complete sense of mental relaxation I get. It is so good to give the brain a break.

What have going to the loo and scoliosis have in common?

You may be sitting on the loo while reading this
The Feldenkrais training that I am doing teaches us that our habits over a lifetime can affect how we use our body and long term can cause imbalances including scoliosis.
When you go to the loo and you wipe, which hand do you use? Which hip do you hitch up? Do you ever use the other hand?
If you’ve repeatedly hitched up one hip higher, take a look or take time to feel your body. Is that hip higher than the other? Do you have hip/ back pain on one side.
Or maybe you keep your wallet in the same side back pocket and when you reach for it seated you hitch that hip?
Change your habit. It might be difficult to remember at first but you never know it could eventually it can help if you’re suffering with pain on one side.

I keep reading these articles on how to get a good nights sleep. But I’m not sure if this method is known. Here’s what I do. It’s not yogic and it doesn’t involve deep breathing. In fact my Mum gave me this amazing advice.

When you can’t get to sleep at night think of all the girls names you can starting with the letter A. When your done move along to B. Go through the whole alphabet. In all the years I’ve been doing it I’ve never got past M.
Even harder, I find are boys names. Last night I was doing this and only got to C before I nodded off. 😴
