These hormones then trigger a response, fight or flight, as well as activating our immune system, to help us deal with dangerous situations. Sometimes this response is helpful, it can help us push beyond our ‘normal’ capabilities.
However too much stress, too often can cause negative effects, leaving us overwhelmed, and long-term affecting our physical and mental health.

What an inspiring day our Director Rebecca had at the Time for Change Summit 2025 hosted by the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum 🙌

💫 Heard from a young woman once described as being in a “vegetative state” — now thriving in her 2nd year at university!
🚴‍♂️ Listened to a young man who suffered what was thought to be a “concussion”, but was in fact a serious brain injury — his honesty and resilience were powerful reminders of hidden struggles.
🧠 Learned that CT & MRI scans aren’t the only indicators of brain injury — blood tests and other markers are becoming key in diagnosis.
🏥 MP Ashley Daulton shared insight into the NHS 10-year plan, focusing on more care in community settings.

It was also fantastic to connect with physiotherapists, case managers, occupational therapists and specialist services all working to support people with acquired brain injuries
