Chaos amongst the calm… Here’s why I think it’s this way round… 🤔

Just because it’s busy this week doesn’t meant mean it has to be all or nothing.

Half term may make you busier this week, work chaos, 💩 hit’s the fan - that’s ok, it’ll happen…

Just do one session instead of three.

Just go for a brief walk instead of a session tonight.

Your diet might not be the best this week, but just make your next opportunity of eating an ‘OK’ one…

You may not be able to cook the best meals, just carry round some fruit with you today…

How you show up when life is chaos dictates how you move when life is calmer.

The true test of how long you’ll stick something out is how you can stick to basic health or fitness habits when things get mental.

Just accept that this week, this week you may have to lower your expectations.

Then come round and crush it when things get easier.

THAT’S how you make permanent, life-long changes in your health and fitness - this is exactly why we teach this to everyone we work with, to set the expectations right where no other gym encourages this.

Keep it up.

Spoke to a few members today in the gym who were struggling with beating themselves up because they feel they don’t have a purposeful goal to motivate them…

The truth is this will always show itself in your health and fitness journey.

Your reason for starting won’t take you along for life.

Your goal will change.

Your motivations will change.

What made you uncomfortable enough in your own skin to start won’t always have the same pull 1 year down the line.

That’s 100% normal.

It is just as important when you don’t have a goal pulling you that the goal becomes what you get from the exercise.

You exercise because it helps your mental health.

You exercise because it’s purposeful YOU time.

You train because you know it raises your energy.

The goal 100% should be become how it helps you as a person instead of the goal 12 months down the line.

This is how you make long term exercise sustainable with this mindset…

Here’s how you can prevent frustration in this journey PERMANENTLY…

You have to know your progress in your health journey shows it in tonnes of ways.

Somedays you wake up and you have zero energy - but simply turning up is progress for someone not previously consistent.

Somedays you feel like the fat loss just ISN’T happening, yet you run up the stairs that little bit faster.

Somedays you are just drained.

Somedays the energy isn’t pumping in the gym - you’re kind of having to tick the box.

That is winning. And that is 100% progress.

You’ll win in this process when you recognise that you’ll never see a straight line of progress in this journey.

There’ll be big wins and revelations.

There’ll be weeks of pain, frustration and low energy.

There’ll be 100’s of days you doubt your ability to stick this out.

You just have to not quit when it first gets hard and keep turning up.

Mentally.

And physically.

Learning to use weights in the gym is probably the most empowering thing for seeing long term progress.

You literally watch your strength increasing - very quickly. You feel more confident. Your energy improves over time.

And then things in everyday life become easier without you even realising.

Stairs you used to avoid. Carrying shopping. Keeping up with the kids. Playing on the floor with them and actually getting back up easily without your knees clicking or back giving out.

All those little tasks that used to feel like effort... they feel tonnes simpler.

Here’s what most people don’t know…

What’s the biggest indicator of long-term health…? Grip strength and leg strength.

Get strong in these areas and you’re setting yourself up for a healthier, longer life.
