❌ DON’T FALL FOR A QUICK FIX ❌

As we approach January - your social media is going to be filled with quick fixes, detox tea’s, skinny coffee’s, shake diets and weight loss drugs…. if it’s not already!

People selling one off plans for you to get the body of your dreams and that perfect diet to get you in shape 💃

Unfortunately there isn’t a one size diet that fits all

And training programmes should have different cycles that you go through as you become better and grow 💪🏻

Any new diet and training plan you do should become a new lifestyle choice that you are happy to do forever

Yes FOREVER!

Otherwise your results just won’t last

It will be another quick fix with a few pounds lost and a few £’s lost. That’s it

So before you spend your money PLEASE make sure you do a bit of research

What should you look for?
- A programme that’s PERSONALISED to your needs and your specific goals.

- Something that works around other important things in your life like family, meals out etc

- A programme or coach that has testimonials from current clients

- Ask for a free consultation to see if the programme can be tailored to you. If they just want your money they will not offer it and they will not tailor the programme to you specifically

- A coach that you know you can relate to or that you will get on with. Remember you’re investing money into a programme/coach and you will be in contact with them on a regular basis

What should you avoid?
- Avoid programmes that are built for everyone - the chances of you getting results from something that’s made for everyone is very slim

- Anything that doesn’t offer support outside of purchasing it - what if you have a question or need to adapt something to your lifestyle?

I speak to far too many people who have been stung with £300 worth of products they don’t like and don’t work and have given up on by February 🙈

Just be careful what you purchase in January and if you need any help or advice with it my inbox is always open ☺️

If you’re starting a diet in January…. My top tip is to start now….

Not the actual diet don’t worry 😅 but the preparation for the diet

Go through all your cupboards, your fridge and your freezer

What needs ‘eating up’ 😋

What do you want to enjoy now as it may be too many calories to fit in next week 🫣

What do you need to hide so you forget about it for a bit?

What needs giving away/throwing away?

Setting up your kitchen environment is THE most important thing when starting a diet

Nothing worse than you get to day 4 and find things that are going out of date that you just NEED to eat 🙊

Or that box of chocolates looking at you every time you open the cupboard 👀

Even I don’t have that great a will power

I’ve already gone through my Xmas chocs and anything that has at least June on has been stored in a box in my wardrobe

Not that I am dieting until June but I can sit safe with the knowledge it won’t go off before I get to it

And yes I’ll know it’s there but it’s a long way from the sofa! 😂

I’m also currently eating my way through the stuff in the freezer that won’t fit in my calories or macros - making way for meal prep over the next week 🥗

You see people aren’t successful on a diet because they have will power 💪🏻

They set themselves up so they don’t need to use it

So have a think…. What’s calling your name now that would sabotage your diet?

Eat, give away or throw away

Set yourself up for success this January 🙌🏻

The last 48hrs I’ve spent doing some of the things I love….

Walking the dog 🐶
Gym 🏋🏻‍♀️
Dancing 💃🍸
Walking the dog 🐶
Gym 🏋🏻‍♀️
Relaxing on the sofa with the dog 🐶

People may call me crazy for going to the gym after a night out but I didn’t force myself to go I wanted to go and felt so much better after going

It’s part of my lifestyle and it’s part of who I am and who I want to be in 2026

Had a great opportunity on Sunday to go and help Sheffield arena open 2 new premium spaces

It helped with my decision that Stereophonics were also playing 😉

Working in hospitality can be tough on your social life

Early mornings, late nights…

Flipping your body clock all the time is exhausting and if you read my post yesterday it can mean your days off are just spent recovering and you just end up working and sleeping

Which is why from January 2023 I decided to try and book something every month to make sure I get out of my house and enjoy myself

This month was Example & JLS concert (and I’ve just booked Example for May ‘25 as well!)

And it was definitely a fun night 🙌🏻

So this is your reminder - if you spend 75% of your week making everyone else’s night make sure you also plan that time in for yourself 🤩

Do you feel you’re giving your best self to work and then feel exhausted and tired on your day off resulting in an unproductive ‘you time’

Your days off are spent doing nothing for yourself or your health and just recovering from the tiring days at work and probably getting a takeaway and having a few drinks?

Here’s what’s going wrong and how you can improve…..

🍔 You are feeding yourself with rubbish food for energy

Yes it may taste delicious but you need nutritious food to nourish your body and feel better, honestly the quality of your food does matter

Meal prep is key 🔑

🧘🏻‍♀️No self care during the week so you are running on empty

You can’t expect to be go go go all the time and not burn out

Schedule time in your diary where you can focus on the things that refresh and energise you - a walk, a bath, the gym, reading the cinema etc

Schedule them like a hair appointment 💇🏽‍♀️

😴 Not prioritising sleep

But then sleeping your day off away

I know it can be hard doing different shifts but trying to get your sleep in a regular sleep pattern is the best thing you can do

It will save you feeling rubbish on your day off and spending most of it trying to catch up on the lost sleep!

When you can - get to bed early. Don’t stay up until 1am watching Netflix then moan you are tired 👀

🍔🧘🏻‍♀️😴 These 3 things will help you to start feeling a bit better over time and stop you from wasting your days off!!

Don’t be all work and sleep! (Add the odd concert in there 💃 🎤)

This week has been really frustrating 😩

If you ever look at my Instagram or Facebook stories you will see me posting my workouts and sometimes some PB’s in the gym 💪🏻

Pushing harder and getting personal bests in the gym is what drives me to keep going

The other week I tried a few different exercise variations and pushed a bit too hard 😫

Which resulted in me hurting my shoulder and my trap on my left side

This is an ongoing issue I have and not something that can be fixed overnight

So pushing hard the other week put me out of action for most of this week - especially when I used a physio ball the try and massage the muscles and seemed to make it worse! 😭

Tuesday - Thursday I was in agony and using freeze spray and ibuprofen like they were going out of fashion 🙈😂

It’s calmed down now but it meant I’ve only done 3 gym sessions this week - 2 of which had to be legs

On top of that it’s been stressful at work and like everyone else it drives my hunger and had me eating chocolate cake at 11pm the other night 🙊 (I keep it in the freezer for emergencies 😆)

Less gym sessions and more food = not an ideal combination!

But rather than beat myself up about it I took action

I ordered an Asda delivery for 10.30am Saturday and MADE myself meal prep - yes made myself. I don’t always want to do what I have to do either!

And I’ve planned out where my gym sessions are going next week

I don’t currently have a coach so I have to be my own coach - which is fine most of the time until I have to have a word with myself and tell myself off for slacking! 😂

And I know this is the biggest downfall of people I speak to

They let themselves off to much and have too many excuses as to why they couldn’t do something that week

As I’ve just said - I’m not perfect either and it’s not about being perfect

It’s about knowing how to move forward the next week to get back on track for the goals you have set

Which is why I do a weekly check in with clients so we can assess the previous week and set plans for the week ahead

As today is Sunday do the same yourself…..

How has your week gone?

What do you need to do this week to move one step forward to your goals?

Yesterday marked 6 months in my new role as F&B Manager 🥳

The role has brought along lots of new challenges, upskilling in new areas and learning a whole new department with our retail offering

I can not thank Dionne, Matt, Roisin and Paul enough for guiding me through the last 6 months and help me grow my knowledge within the business and manage my own little projects

In my interview for the new role I said I’ve never once hated coming to work over the last 3 and a half years and this still stands true 🤩

Every show is different and comes with its own challenges but I love the challenges it brings, known and unknown 😂 and looking forward to what the future holds at AO Arena 🤩
