🌟 Celebrating Success at Laverstock Care Centre! 🌟

We’re so proud to celebrate Pierre, who has been a valued member of our Laverstock Care Centre team for the past four years! 👏

Pierre has successfully achieved his Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship — a fantastic accomplishment that reflects his dedication, hard work, and passion for continuous learning.

Here’s what Pierre had to say about his journey:

“I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the apprenticeship program. My time spent during the apprenticeship has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to acquire new skills and significantly boost my professional confidence. I particularly enjoyed the hands-on experience and the collaborative environment fostered by the team. The ability to contribute to my project was a highlight of my journey. I am eager to leverage the knowledge and experience gained in future endeavours.”

💜 What a day! Laverstock Care Centre went Purple for Stroke Awareness Day! 💜

Thank you to every resident, staff member, and friend who came together today to support our fundraising efforts and help us all become more aware of stroke signs and prevention. The sea of purple was fantastic!

Feathered Fun: Poppy the Conure Returns!
The joy just keeps coming to Laverstock Care Centre, and it's all thanks to one small, brightly coloured bird!

Our amazing Nurse Elizabeth recently brought her sweet Pineapple Conure, Poppy, in for another visit, and once again, she was an absolute delight. Residents were captivated by Poppy's vibrant feathers and playful, cheeky personality—the smiles were non-stop!

Poppy is truly a little ambassador of happiness. Not only does she cheer up everyone here, but she also takes her kindness on the road, regularly visiting Salisbury Hospital to spread comfort on the children’s ward and the stroke unit.

As Nurse Elizabeth reminds us, "everyone can spend an hour a day to do a good deed." We think she and Poppy perfectly embody that spirit!

A huge thank you again to Elizabeth and her feathered friend, Poppy, for bringing so much happiness and reminding us of the powerful comfort that animals (and simple kindness) can offer.

If you have a loved one in hospital who is due for discharge, please help get them home. Many patients’ discharges are often delayed due to them not having any way of getting home, or their current living environment not being ready for their return.

You can help by:
🚗 offering a lift home from hospital
💊 collecting prescriptions
🌡️ ensuring their home is heated
🥫 stocking their cupboard with staple food items
