Our residents truly got into the spirit of Remembrance this year, with a wonderful visit from the D Day Dollies bringing smiles and songs to the day. 🎶

We’re also so proud to share that Castle View and Kimberly East & West were recognised for their incredible Remembrance window displays — receiving Highly Commended and Commended Certificates from Royal British Legion Salisbury Branch President Chris Child and Branch Chairman

A special mention to one of our talented residents at Castle View, who created an incredible 260 handmade poppies — a beautiful tribute to those who served and sacrificed.

Halloween is a time for fun, costumes, and treats — but for some older adults, the spooky season can be a little overwhelming. Changes in hearing, vision, or mobility mean that loud noises, sudden knocks, or unfamiliar faces can startle them.

Here’s how to keep Halloween enjoyable and respectful for everyone:

Knock or ring gently – Avoid startling those with sensitive hearing.

Approach slowly – Uneven paths or mobility aids mean extra caution.

Be patient – Some residents may need a little extra time to answer the door or respond.

Keep it friendly – Smiles, waves, and cheerful greetings go a long way.

Respect signs – If a home has a “No Trick or Treating” sign, please don’t knock. Some older adults may prefer a quiet evening.

Give space – Some residents may watch from a window or sit quietly indoors — that’s okay too!
