Today is about celebrating the strength, resilience and quiet courage of women everywhere.

Not just the headline-makers.
Not just the history-changers.
But the everyday women who keep going. Who show up. Who hold families, businesses and communities together, often while carrying more than anyone sees.

So many of the women I work with are navigating self-doubt, burnout, imposter syndrome, anxiety… all while being the steady one for everyone else. And here’s what I want you to hear today:

You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to want more.

Empowerment isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s choosing yourself. Sometimes it’s setting a boundary. Sometimes it’s finally letting go of the story that says you’re “not enough.”

This International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate progress, and also honour how far you personally have come.

The first Monday back after half term can feel like a shock to the system, for parents as much as kids.

Routines return, mornings get busier, and the mental load can suddenly feel very loud again. If today feels a bit stressful, you’re not doing anything wrong , you’re just adjusting.

Here are a few gentle mindset shifts to help ease back in:

✨ It doesn’t have to be perfect
Forgotten PE kits, rushed breakfasts, tired moods, the first week back is about settling, not getting everything right.

✨ Your calm helps their calm
Children often pick up on our emotional tone. A slower breath, a softer voice, and realistic expectations can make a big difference to the whole household.

✨ One day at a time
You don’t have to tackle the entire term today. Just focus on this morning, this school run, this evening. Small chunks feel much more manageable.

✨ Be kind to yourself too
You’re juggling a lot, schedules, emotions, responsibilities. Feeling stretched doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you care.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

A little reminder today that kindness doesn’t have to be big to be powerful.

It can be a smile at a stranger.
A message to check in on someone.
Letting someone out in traffic.
Making a cuppa for someone who’s had a long day.

Small moments. Big impact.

Kindness isn’t just something we give to others either, it’s something many of us forget to give to ourselves. Speaking to yourself gently, taking a proper rest, or allowing yourself to say “that’s enough for today” absolutely counts as a random act of kindness too.

The nervous system responds to kindness. Feeling safe, seen, and supported (even in small ways) helps our minds and bodies settle more than we often realise.

So today, if you can, do one small kind thing for someone else… and one for yourself
