In this week’s Mintaka Reiki in Sandbach Blog, I describe an incredible Reiki experience that one of my student’s had recently, which had sort of blown her mind, so she’d come back to me to try and make sense of it all.
It all started when (let’s call her) Tina signed up for my last Reiki 2 Training Workshop, about four months ago (btw, I’ve got another Reiki 2 Workshop in two weeks’ time, with places still available.)
For anyone who doesn’t know, Reiki is a safe, natural, and simple healing technique, centred on relaxation and stress relief, which in turn helps to heal the body, mind and spirit.
After learning all the basics in Reiki 1, I’ll admit that some of the things I share in my Reiki 2 workshop can seem quite incredible – especially when I teach my students all about “distance” Reiki.
I could tell that Tina was sceptical: how on earth could I/she/anyone “send” Reiki to another person, somewhere else in the world, and they’d benefit from this ancient healing technique in exactly the same way as if they were receiving hands-on healing from a Reiki practitioner in the same room.
I know, it sounds mad, doesn’t it?
But believe me, that’s exactly what can, and does, happen when you go deeper with Reiki and progress from Reiki 1 to Reiki 2.
I use distance Reiki all the time – even just this week, I was “sending” energy to one of my clients as he started his chemo in a hospital many miles away. And he could sense the peace that it brought.
Tina, meanwhile, wasn’t convinced about distance energy; that’s why she went home after her Reiki 2 training, and didn’t even bother to open her training manual again…until life came calling, four months later, and a situation presented itself that desperately needed some healing Reiki energy.
Tina’s 13-year-old grand-daughter, who lives on the other side of the world, had become gravely ill. The odds were clearly stacked against her, but Tina admits she felt a massive draw to try and help. She was now ready to embrace all she’d been taught.
So, she finally read her Reiki 2 manual, to remind herself about how this distance Reiki thing worked… and then she sent Reiki to her grand-daughter. Several times.
And you know what – against all odds, and contrary to the doctor’s prognosis, her grand-daughter has turned a corner. Quite rightly, Tina didn’t want to claim that she’d played any part in the recovery – but I know without any doubt that Reiki had certainly played a part in it.
So, if, like Tina, there’s a situation in your life that makes you feel helpless, please let me reassure you, you’re not, there is something you can do to help: learn Reiki.
