A sad 😢 day at Physioem today as we say goodbye 👋 to Carrie.
She leaves us after 12 1/2 years and will be sorely missed.
We wish her well in her future career and enjoying sitting in the sun ☀️ in the garden 🪴 with Amber 🐶 on her breaks 🤪🤣

Why I chose to train as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist...

I've been a teacher for over 15 years. Like many teachers I noticed an increasing need for mental health support in the years running up to covid. I searched for courses and training but felt overwhelmed with my search results. I knew my cousin was a therapist and I contacted him to see if he could shed some light. He recommended Solution focused hypnotherapy (SFH).

Then covid happened and I, like many of us, went into survival mode. It was a case of head down and push through. I reconnected with the idea of SFH early in 2022. I liked that it was a positive therapy that focused on finding solutions and not on dwelling on the issue. I was accepted onto the Clifton Practice SFH course 🎉

I went into the course thinking of it in the same way as any other training, some parts would be useful and other bits not so much. I was viewing it as something I had to do; a task. Well how wrong was I!! 💡

As the lecturers gave us an explanation of how the brain works I felt like I was completing a jigsaw puzzle. A puzzle that I had been trying to complete for years, but without the box showing what the final picture looks like 🧩 I felt empowered and motivated.

As children we are given an explanation as to how our body works and what to do to support this. Most 10 year olds know that calcium helps their bones and that brushing their teeth keeps their teeth from developing holes....but what about our mental health?🧠

I have carried this motivation and enthusiasm through the course. I love supporting my clients to better understand their mental health and develop strategies and plans to achieve their goals 💫
