A selection of our beautiful yoga babies that were welcomed into the world this year 🌟 I have absolutely loved connecting with each and every one of you. I started a new role in July so have been fitting my classes around this as well as being mum to my two little ones!

I’m welcoming some time off over Christmas to rest & recharge. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year - Wishing you all a wonderful festive period 🎄

Reflect

Ask yourself:

What emotions prevent me from resting – guilt, selfishness, unworthiness?

Where do these emotions come from? What memories arise when I allow myself to feel them?

What is one small loving thing I can do today begin unravelling rest from guilt, selfishness, and unworthiness and reweaving it with care, love, and peace?

Rest

I like to call my rest practices 'rituals' because it reminds me of the sacredness of not only rest but also of the way we can turn our everyday obligations into restful sanctuaries. The majority of life is pretty mundane. We cook dinner every night, change the bed every week, and pay the bills every month. And yet, we can turn our daily obligations into spiritual rituals to make the monotonous feel sacred.

For example, when I’m working my way through my emails, I’ll light a candle that infuses the room with the smell of lavender and cedarwood and when I’m watering the plants I focus on the feeling of caring for and connecting with Mother Earth. These tiny changes can help the responsibilities of our lives feel less stressful and more sacred.

✨ Maternal mental health awareness week 2024 ✨

Well I have been on quite the journey since having my first baby in 2019 especially going into the first Covid lockdown when she was just 5 months old. Motherhood is full of so many ups and downs. I always try to remember the grey days won’t last and the sun will soon shine again.

As parents our mental health is directly linked to the mental health of our children so it’s vital to prioritise our own needs and wellbeing. As the saying goes we can’t pour from an empty cup. Here are some ways I navigate my mental health -

Taking a break and asking for help when I’m feeling burnt out.

Reminding myself I’m not the only one going through difficult times and that all mothers will have been through the same.

I also have affirmations on the wall in my kitchen to help with self compassion when times are tough. A couple of my favourites are -

‘It’s ok to do less when you’re coping with more’

‘I handle my responsibilities with ease’

I also have some quotes to encourage positive communication with my daughters as it’s so easy to focus on the negatives in rough times -

‘Even if I’m feeling frustrated about something I still love you’

‘I feel blessed to have you in my life’

These work absolute wonders to uplift and connect us. It’s not easy being a parent and definitely a constant work in progress. Sending love to all the parents showing up and doing the work day in day out ♥️

Trust your body and your baby to know when the time is right to birth! This time last year I was just about to go into labour - I’d actually had a dream a few weeks prior that my baby would be born on the 19th April! I was 40 + 10 weeks pregnant according to my ‘estimated due date’

I highly recommend the book ‘In your own time’ by to find out more about trusting our bodies and the physiology of birth ♥️

Squeezing in a bit of morning yoga 🧘‍♀️

The holidays can be so busy and overwhelming at times with the pressure of feeling like you have to keep the kids constantly entertained. We have been lucky enough to have some help from grandparents which makes a massive difference to allow some breathing space and a little time for looking after myself.

As soon as the baby was napping this morning I felt like I had so many things to do but instead chose to kick the toys to the side and roll out my mat!
