The "Wandering Gussets' & Other Funny Tales 😂

We had a wonderful conversation with Elspeth on our very last “Yoga Teacher Stories: Life After YTT” chat of the year.

Elspeth did her YTT back in 2021 - on The Frog Project’s very first YTT cohort! It was a slightly different iteration of the course back then, and was co-taught by my teacher Jeenal Mehta. Listen to our chat on all things yoga, what brought Elspeth to yoga and to her YTT, her first teaching experiences, her chair group the “Wandering Gussets” (yes - it is a story about pants!) and what happened when she arrived at one class and had 37 students ready to practice with her!

It was a wonderful chat, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! 👇

And just in case this chat inspires you to dive into yoga a little bit further, there are still a few places left on our next YTT, starting in January! Head to bio for more info.

We're thrilled to welcome Myriam to The Frog Project team! 🧘‍♀️

She joins us from Belgium with ten years of teaching experience across four continents. Before yoga, she was a competitive swimmer (butterfly, no less), and you'll still find her happiest near water or out on a hike.

Her classes are warm, grounded, and focused on helping you feel at ease in your body. We can't wait for you to practice with her.

Myriam will be guiding you on Sunday mornings from next week. Please join one of her debut classes this coming weekend (Sunday 21st Dec), and help us welcome her to the gang!

At the Om Show in October, Carrie met Anna Brook - a remarkable Women's Circle Facilitator who's been holding sacred spaces for women for over 20 years. After 3 days of chatting at neighbouring stalls, we knew we had to bring her magic to our community.

So here it is: our very first online Women's Circle, held around the Winter Solstice.
This is the darkest night of the year - a natural invitation to pause, look inward, and reflect on the year that's been. Before the rush of Christmas and New Year, the Solstice asks us to slow down. What do you want to release? What seeds do you want to plant for the year ahead?

In this circle, Anna will guide us through:

✨ Sharing Circles - speak your truth, be witnessed, listen deeply
✨ Journalling - gentle prompts to reflect on your year
✨ Yin Yoga - slow, restorative poses to settle the body
✨ Yoga Nidra - deep rest for the nervous system

You don't need any experience. You don't need to share if you don't want to. You just need to come as you are.

Why we're charging this time

We don't often charge for community events - you know we love offering workshops and specials as part of your membership. But Anna is an external facilitator with 2 decades of experience, and we want to honour her expertise. We're also keeping the group small (just 20 places) so that everyone has a chance to be truly seen and heard. The intimate size is what makes it work.

📆 Monday 15th December, 7-8.30pm - online

Join us for real stories from real teachers! We're chatting to graduates from our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YA accredited) who completed the programme last year and have been teaching for a full year. Hear firsthand about their journey from curious student to confident yoga guide, what they learned, and how the training prepared them for the real world of sharing yoga. If you're considering doing your YTT and want honest insights from teachers who've been there, this is for you!

Struggling to sleep? You're not alone - and there's actual science behind why this happens!

As we age, our bodies produce less melatonin and our circadian rhythms shift forward, causing us to feel tired earlier and wake up earlier. We also spend less time in deep, restorative sleep stages. But research proves that yoga can help restore healthy sleep patterns.

How yoga helps (backed by research):

✓ Studies show yoga practitioners fall asleep faster
✓ Experience fewer nighttime awakenings
✓ Reduce or eliminate sleep medications
✓ Improve overall sleep quality and duration
✓ Wake feeling more rested and energetic
