Talking about feelings can be particularly challenging for guys. Having a safe place to talk when things get hard can be a life saver. This article explores how men’s experiences of counselling can differ from women’s:

I received this kind message from a client yesterday. I feel privileged to be able to support people as they navigate difficult times in their life. These kind words provide much encouragement for my work and I hope that they can help others find the courage to ask for help. It takes great strength not weakness to seek support and strength to share these experiences. Lets get the message out there that it is ok to not be ok and it is ok to ask for some help. If you are struggling please reach out, you do not need to go it alone

I have enjoyed the sunshine and blue skies this afternoon. We are often told about the benefits of talking to someone and the benefits from time outdoors. I have several years experience working with therapy clients outdoors. Thanks to the easing of restrictions and the warmer weather we can now walk and talk or find a suitable place to sit outside. Together we can explore any difficulty you are experiencing and soak up some of the benefits nature offers.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

I have often encounted in both my work and personal experience a profound fear of laziness. This article explores how we may have developed myths around the importance of productivity and wasting time:

In therapy we work towards developing self-worth that is not dependant on what you do. Our usefulness fluctuates but our value does not

No one chooses to fail or disappoint. We need to unlearn our bias of laziness.

It is becoming more and more apparent how important a role touch plays to human health. I know many people are missing hugs right now. Nice article on the importance of touch and what you can do when social distancing or missing human contact.

Has the pandemic had you missing hugs from your nearest and dearest? Social distancing is vital to prevent the spread of coronavirus, but it's depriving us of our human need for physical touch

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day

Listen, reserve judgment and be kind...If we all do these things it will make it so much easier for people to talk and reach out for help. The article below contains information on where to get help, it’s time to get rid of the stigma and be there for each other.

"I once read somewhere that su***de is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And sadly, this is very true. Many people who feel suicidal don’t want to necessarily die, they just want to end their suffering."

Having suicidal thoughts and feelings can be very scary. You get to a place where...
