Our Easter Egg Appeal!!!

Today we had the upmost privilege of taking the time out to visit Springhead Primary School and Scarborough Hospital, spending time both at the school and the hospital taking to both staff and children and spreading some easter 🐣 cheer, honestly everyone that has taken the the time out to share our posts and support our appeal thank you just doesn’t seem enough.

The staff here at Falsgrave Funeral Service are truely greatful and took great pride in what what we have done today and going forward what plans are in place for the next.

Easter spirit even continued upon arrival back at the funeral home when 5 more eggs where donated and we handed them out to passersby with Children spreading a little smile and laughter along the way. We are part of your community and always will be, its good to engage.

We have donated well over 200 easter eggs, and small gifts to bring togetherness across the community and without you we couldn't of done it! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Our Funeral Director Adam, Paging out in new his new uniform today.

Adam always says, prior to any funeral Rain or shine, it’s always important that we pause to mark our respects by paging the hearse out from the funeral home, every life deserves that dignity.

Why do funeral directors page out?

Funeral directors “page out” the hearse as part of a long-standing professional ritual that centres on dignity, respect, and symbolism.

At its heart, it’s about honouring the person’s final journey. When staff step outside and formally acknowledge the hearse as it leaves, it marks the moment as significant not just another vehicle departure, but someone being taken on their last journey.

It also reflects a core value of the profession every person is treated with equal care and respect. Whether the service is large or small, public or private, the paging out shows that the same standards are upheld every time.

There’s also a ceremonial and traditional element. Funeral work has deep roots in ritual similar in some ways to military or civic customs and paging out is one of those visible acts that reinforces professionalism, discipline, and pride in the role.
