Blue Monday

Today is often called Blue Monday — a day many people feel a little heavier, a little quieter, or a little more tired than usual.

Working as a funeral director here in Scarborough, we see every day how much people carry, often silently. Grief doesn’t always arrive with noise — sometimes it sits gently, sometimes it lingers, and sometimes it surprises us on days like today.

If you’re feeling low, please know you’re not alone. It’s okay to slow down, to reach out, or simply to acknowledge how you’re feeling. And if today feels like just another Monday for you, perhaps check in on someone else — a small kindness can mean more than we ever realise.

In life there are many places that bring comfort and calm to people. Sometimes you just need to take that time to yourself.

Today i was passing the church in Bridlington and thought about praying. Not just for myself, but for the families that have been or are currently in our care, for friends and family, and for world peace.

Where is your go to place for your time alone, reflection or answers?

Today we take the time to mourn the loss, and remember the three individuals who sadly lost their lives, off the coast of Withernsea over the weekend.

Every death is a hard to get your head arround, and this is certainly no different. We would also like to praise the emergency services who tried there upmost to save these individuals and continue to search tirelessly for the young girl whom is still missing, and also the bravery of the gentleman who made his way into the water to try and save the two ladies but sadly lost his life.

As a costal community we all know to well how this can effect people and are here for you should you need to talk.

It is important to us that you are able to visit your loved ones here at our Chapel of rest at any time please ask any of our dedicated staff times for out of hours Chapel visits should you want to spend time with your loved one or friend out of our normal working office hours.

Our chapel of rest allows you time to spend that quite time of reflection and calm with your loved one in private or with other members family or friends.

Our phone lines are always open 24hrs a day and our chapel visits are by appointment only.
