The NHS Zero Tolerance Policy is a strict policy implemented across the NHS to protect staff from violence, aggression, and abuse by patients, their relatives, or the public. Incidents may lead to a formal warning, removal from the practice patient list, and police reporting.

🔴 Definition of Abuse: Includes physical violence, verbal abuse, swearing, threats, menacing behaviour, and offensive, racist, or sexual remarks.

How does triage work? Here's a simple flowchart to show how your request is processed.

Our "Total Triage" model for our GP/Advanced Nurse appointments starts today.

This means that for all GP/ANP appointment requests, an online triage form will require completion or our receptionist will go through a set of questions and complete the triage form over the phone with you. The process for arranging an appointment with our Practice Nursing team and Healthcare Assistants will remain the same. This will allow patients to contact the practice without needing to queue on the phone at 8am and those without internet access who do need to call us, should see shorter waiting times.

Please be kind to our staff whilst we navigate this new change.

Total triage trial day 3

Please have patience with staff today as they test out our triage system for the final time before we go live on 1st February. If calling the surgery for an appointment or with a query you will be asked a set of triage questions which will then allow our clinician to process your request appropriately.
