With Organ Donation Week coming to a close yesterday, we at IMT would like to give a huge shout out to one of our own, Stuart Wood, who was the recipient of a transplant kidney many years ago.

Stu is one of our Transplant Drivers based down in the Oxfordshire area, and always goes above and beyond.

His story was made public at the time, and the love of his life was by his side every step of the way to support Stu on his journey.

In their spare time, IMT's Andy and Chris coach a local Under 7's Football Team, sporting the Organ Donation Week T-shirts. Andy managed to pull off this beauty of a finish courtesy of a lovely assist from IMT Transplant Driver Darren

To start off our awareness in Organ Donation Week, IMT Medical would like to share the heart warming story of Chloe, a heart recipient and who is the daughter of Colin, who through Chloe's journey, became one of our transplant drivers based in the North East.

At the age of 12, Chloe was placed on the organ donation register due to complications from a rare cancer diagnosis. Chloe's story promoted coverage across the UK and in to Europe at the time. This amazing promotion of Chloe's story helped place her at the top of the European transplant list.

Nearly two years later, Chloe's wait and the wonderful promotion of organ donation finally provided the news the family had been waiting for. A suitable heart donor had been found, and Chloe's journey resulted in her becoming a recipient of a donated heart.

Chloe, now 25, can tell her tale. She and her family are fierce advocates of the organ donation processes and the promotion of organ donation.

Let us all do our little bit and sign up. Chloe's photos are provided courtesy of the family - thank you.

For the full story of Chloe's journey, please follow the link below

It is vitally important for people to become organ donors, as it saves lives.

There are currently over 8000 people waiting for an organ to either improve, or save their life. Your decision to be a donor could potentially save up to 9 lives.

The Transplant Games in Oxford were a great success. Can we pass on our thanks and congratulations to everyone who took part in this fantastic event. IMT Medical were privileged to be part of this weekend, and to support everybody who was involved.

It was also great to see one of our own staff (Stuart Wood) take part in the games. Stuart is a recipient of a Kidney Transplant many years ago and he always goes that extra mile to support any worthy event he can - thank you Stu.

We have included some photos of the events below.

Every Mile Matters – A tribute to IMT Medical’s dedicated team of staff and our suppliers.

As the United Kingdom's contracted transport provider for national organ retrieval service teams, specialist nurses organ donation and donated organs, we are more than just a logistics operation, we are part of a life-saving journey.

Across the UK and into Europe, at any hour of the day or night, our team works with quiet determination. From meticulous planning in our Hub, to the final delivery, every person involved understands the importance of what we do. We are not just transporting medical cargo, we are helping to give someone a second chance at life.

Our drivers, our supply chain drivers and our colleagues at 247 Aviation travel through sunshine, rain, snow, and sometimes in silence, knowing that their journey could mean everything to a waiting patient and their family. This is more than a job, it’s a responsibility we carry with pride and deep compassion.

Recently, a fellow transplant driver in Germany shared their own reflections about the honour and emotional weight of transporting donated organs. Their words resonate deeply with us, because we feel it too. Every trip, every heartbeat along the way matters. To our team of planners, coordinators, drivers and supply chain, thank you for being a thread in the tapestry of life-saving care. Working Together, we deliver.
