❤️As well as being our funeral director, in his spare time Rob is part of the Royal British legion Seaford branch, his community task today was to clean the plaques at our memorial of which he takes great pride in. Lest we forget.
—Information on the two plaques below—

*Major Cuthbert Bromley*
(19 September 1878 – 13 August 1915) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

He was awarded the VC for his actions on 25th April 1915, during the landings at W Beach, Gallipoli, Turkey, and during which he was wounded three times.

*MRN Gareth Wheddon*
(3 February 1959 - 12 November 1978)
Gareth was a 19 year old Royal Marine, 42 commando who was injured by an IRA bomb near Crossmaglen, Co.Armagh, Northern Ireland on the 9th November and died of his wounds 3 days later at Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast.

At Seaford and Newhaven we pride ourselves on being able to offer unique and personalized funerals, so last week we were only too pleased to have a full paramedic guard of honor and be escorted to the funeral by this ambulance, to pay tribute to a great man who not only served in the Royal Airforce but also as a paramedic himself ❤️

❤️What a superb morning!⭐️
Our funeral director Rob had the great honour of taking his “letters to heaven” postbox to the children of Annecy school and had such a wonderful chat about heaven and our loved ones! He was of course helped out by his daughter Grace who’s idea the whole thing was!

It's just under a month until we participate in St Wilfrid's Hospice Rainbow Run 🌈 to honour our late colleague, Danny McIntyre, who passed away last year. Last year, we successfully raised an incredible £1,249.81 to support St Wilfrid's Hospice and the amazing work they do.
