Kelly Slade Yoga Hi, I offer Vinyasa flow, Dynamic Hatha, Yin, yoga Nidra and Breathwork in East Sussex. Twice yearly affordable luxurious European overseas retreats too.

Yoga classes in Berwick 💕

Yoga is about connection. About uniting body and mind. It asks of you to tune in and respond. What can nourish you in one season can deplete you in another.

We are on the conveyor belt of life, many do not live life with the seasons. Many can not. Maybe you’re holding on so tightly that you feel heavy and lethargic. You simply do not have the time or energy to add something else on your to do list.

There’s a saying ‘yoga doesn’t take time, it gives time’ by Ganga White. It does require commitment; yes. But that’s showing up for yourself, making yourself a priority. It provides mental clarity and motivation. You create focus and balance inside when your outside world might be spinning.

We all need yoga. We need that welcoming space. A yoga class environment is something so very special, you have to experience it to believe it.

These classes run for 5 weeks as a course booking. This asks of you to commit to you and the space you need. I’m not promising rapid body transformation. But your mind will. And then the body will adapt. Less stress means your body will change. I am leaner, stronger and healthier for practising yoga.

Yoga also helps me to show up in other areas of my life. When I was training for Ultras (walking), yoga helped me recover. I was comfortable with spending extended periods with myself training. When I took up running, yoga complemented that. Lifting weights, I can ensure my mobility remains. I recover quicker, I’m calmer and less prone to injury, I’m more receptive to rest days because I’ve learnt how important they are.

All through yoga. It’s a journey. But one I’m never ending because the view from here is just wonderful 💕. It’s ever evolving, as am I.

Visit the website to book, I have no idea why you’ve waited this long… but it’s never too late.

Today we welcome the year of the fire horse.

I lean into what I’m feeling energetically and emotionally. I have spent a lot of time getting to know myself so everything I do comes from a place of integrity and authenticity.

Sometimes I misjudge, hormones are sometimes throwing me off balance. But this past year especially I have pulled back to reconnect rather than be on that conveyor belt of offering just because that’s what I’ve always have done. Saying yes when I didn’t really want to. I know you many of you have felt the same.

Boundaries are important to me. My self care is non negotiable. I live this life to hopefully inspire you to do the same. If I am grounded when you visit me and my classes in Berwick, you will tap into my energy.

What is not welcome in my yoga family is trying to push my beliefs. Everything I do comes from a kind place and recently this has been challenged. A level of toxicity has arisen and I’ve leant into how this makes me spiral. Spiral into uncertainty of whether I am still on the right path. It can be quite painful how one person out of hundreds can make you feel so doubtful of yourself isn’t it?

My ask of you; my yoga family is to think twice before you allow these people to doubt your self worth. You all have one. The snake year was about shedding. For me it’s shedding that uncertainty. When I sit and meditate I am certain of my direction, of my thoughts and actions. My one and one focus whether it be in a regular class with me or a retreat, it to empower you. To know your worth so you can tune inwards and know what your boundaries are and that your actions come from a place of authenticity.

Thank you to those of you that show up for yourself. Thank you for continuing to practice self love and self care with me. It’s an honour to know you and I appreciate you more than you know.

I offer regular classes in Berwick if you’d like to join the most welcoming groups in Berwick. My 2026 is fully booked with the most incredible group of people but the 2027 retreat details will be released soon.

My next yoga Nidra meditation class is on Sunday 1 March 6-7pm.

Hope to see you soon, with love always. Kelly xx

Something exciting will be announced soon….

This is your sign to schedule in your time for rest and reconnection next year. Because we need to make sure we ring fence that time. Because life is busy and complicated. Because we need some notice to organise before we have that time for our self. Because if it’s in the calendar we have something to look forward to.

Bring a friend or family member. Or come on your own and make lasting friendships and memories. Come as you are and let me and my team look after you. Know you’ll be supported and nourished as you focus solely on you and your self care.

Are you coming? DM to be added to the waiting list or join my newsletter on my website. Further details will be released soon.

Monday views not blues 💕

We are made up of around 70% water depending on our age and how hydrated we are.

Water doesn’t sit still. It flows. We were never meant to move in a straight line. These current exercise regimes are asking of us to move in a linear pattern. They focus on muscle isolation, compound exercises which yes builds bulk and helps our muscles gain strength. This will keep our body strong for years to come. But what of our mobility? Our balance? We need to bend and fold and just like water; move around obstacles. My worry is if we move like a board we’ll end up as stiff as a board. There should be freedom in our movement, it should be non prescriptive and embodied. Because life isn’t linear, we zigzag, we learn how to adapt.

Come and flow with me this evening. And learn how free your body and mind is meant to feel.

‘Reshape yourself through the power of your will; never let yourself be degraded by self—will. The will is the only friend of the Self; and the will is the only enemy of the Self’. The Bhagavad Gita

Have you been wanting to start yoga or have lost a practice somewhere along the way? Life does get in our way, but we must carve out that time. Prioritise our self care and connection to Self.

Boundaries are what makes us strong, an inspiration for others and above all else actually happy. When you learn more about your Self and what you are capable of; your world will open up to new opportunities.

Yoga is one of the few practices that teaches you embodiment. You need to ground and root before you can grow. Which is why so many people enjoy a regular yoga practice. They recognise how much more able they are as they carry these lessons over to their day to day life. They are less anxious, more confident and can identify when situations do not leave them fulfilled.

Yoga is the only place where you are welcomed as you are. You don’t need to change. You need to breathe and learn what your body and mind is asking of you. And everyone has the potential to realise this power within.

New yoga courses are available to book on my website now. kellysladeyoga.com or click the link in the bio. I love to welcome new yogis into our Kula.

Questions I get asked a lot…

❓Did you used to be a dancer?
I know may yoga and Pilates teachers come to yoga from a dance background but no, that’s not me. I can certainly through some embarrassing shapes on the dance floor and according to my tween daughter can be very cringy worthy!

❓You’re so good at yoga, were you always flexible?
Before I rant I will answer the question. Yes I’ve always been flexible ish.
However ‘being good’ at yoga… I’m not too sure what that means. Being ‘good’ means having body awareness, proprioception, learning how my body and mind need to adapt the pose to work for me, having dedication to keep turning up on my mat when a million other excuses get in the way. So yes, maybe I am good at yoga but that’s taken years of practice. No one rocks up to a yoga class and is ‘good’ at it in the beginning. That’s your perception of wha the pose should look like rather than how it feels. That’s embodiment, that’s yoga.

❓How many years have you practiced yoga?

I found yoga in London in my twenties (twenty plus years ago). I hated it. The teacher didn’t resonate with me. I tried hot yoga and some chanting style of yoga which didn’t fit me at the time.
I only started practicing regularly around 10 years ago after finding a cd video of a teacher that taught vinyasa flow. I practised at home and eventually after a few attempts found a teacher I loved in person. But like with eveything I do, I immersed myself in it and practiced near daily.

❓Why did you decide to become a teacher?

Because I found space, clarity, connection and an understanding about myself I never Kew could be possible. And I need to share this information!

Any more questions you have? Let me know ⬇️

This is my focus for 2026 💕

The Parable of the Mexican Fisherman
An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied, “only a little while.”
The American then asked why didn’t he stay out longer and catch more fish?
The Mexican said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs.
The American then asked, “but what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The Mexican fisherman said, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siestas with my wife, Maria, and stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine, and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life.”
The American scoffed. “I have an MBA from Harvard, and can help you,” he said. “You should spend more time fishing, and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats, and eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middle-man, you could sell directly to the processor, eventually opening up your own cannery. You could control the product, processing, and distribution,” he said. “Of course, you would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then Los Angeles, and eventually to New York City, where you will run your expanding enterprise.”
The Mexican fisherman asked, “But, how long will this all take?”
To which the American replied, “Oh, 15 to 20 years or so.”
“But what then?” asked the Mexican.
The American laughed and said, “That’s the best part. When the time was right, you would announce an IPO, and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You would make millions!”
“Millions – then what?”
The American said, “Then you could retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you could sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siestas with your wife, and stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play guitar with your amigos.”

Another trip around the sun… tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 46 years young.

Life passes by ever so quickly. The days and months that slip by. And I have no idea where the 6 years since Covid went do you?

What I do know is it took me a long time to periodise my own self care. I still fall back into old habits of comparison and uncertainty. But I keep working on reaffirming my core values. To always show up as authentic, truthful and the best version of myself I can be.

There will always be obstacles, perimenopause is certainly not helping but I know everything I have achieved on my path has been a result of showing up intentionally.

Thank you for being here, thank you for showing up to my classes and retreats. I love my community and I couldn’t be the person who I want to be without you.

See you on the mat 💕

Yoga is about showing up for yourself. It’s about pure connection. The breath, the movement, the discipline in mindful movement when all you want to do is hibernate during the winter months. It’s about appreciating the benefits of rest.

But how do you know when to do what? Yoga teaches us interoception. It aligns us with a deep knowing of our true self. I know it does sound kooky or strange and I was sceptical too many years ago.

But for those of you who need the science who need that confirmation, it’s about calming the brain waves to a meditative state. In a world where there is so much information maybe you need to lean in to knowing or accepting there’s more than eat, sleep, work, repeat.

The connections we make with ourself on the mat. The acceptance that maybe today we’re feeling a little wobbly and need some grounding. Yoga gives you the chance to pause, to check in and from this place of deep awareness you can then tune into what your body and mind truly needs.

I hope to see you on the mat soon. I guide classes in Berwick all week and would love for you to join us. What’s holding you back?

Monday views not blues 💕

After taking a little time off social media during the Christmas holidays I have returned and my feed is bombarded with ‘winter means rest’ anecdotes. Much better than the ‘new year, new you’ of last year I suppose!

Winter means a slower pace. It would never have been devoid of all movement, sat in front of the tele and wishing the time away. We would have slept longer and spent less time with visual and social stimuli. Life should be slower but it doesn’t need to stop.

Living a life of aligning with the seasons can feel so liberating. You will intuitively feel what you need.

To start; get yourself outside when you can. A walk at lunchtime, pay attention to all nature is showing you.

I saw something recently that said (and I’m paraphrasing as I can’t remember who said it) we wonder why we’re ill in winter when we try to live the pace of summer without all the benefits. We don’t open the windows in our home to clear out old stagnant energy, we don’t spend extended time outside and we don’t eat the fresh seasonal food. Preferring instead to eat the quick energy available from processed food.

So honour your inner winter. Slow but don’t stop. Breathe deeply, fresh air, meditation and mindful movement. Bring heat internally but don’t fight. Enjoy the winter process 💕

See you at class later. Where we’ll reset after the busy social period and focus on breath and movement.

Yoga classes restart from Monday in Berwick 💕

Which one is calling you?

Vinyasa flow is a very strong practice. You are always encouraged to find the version of the pose that suits you but as we flow breath to movement I recommend you have some experience of yoga before attending this class.

Beginners is for you if you’re brand new to yoga or maybe you’d like a refresher if you haven’t attended class for a while. A slower pace where we visit the foundations of the poses, Breathwork and meditation.

Dynamic Hatha and Mixed Level is for all. Sometimes we flow breath to movement. Sometimes we hold poses for a number of breaths to maintain and increase our balance, mobility and flexibility. Building strength and resilience as tune inwards. Each class is different which is why these are offered as a course. For a full rounded yoga experience.

I offer classes of reconnection, breath and movement. Every single person is different and you are welcomed as you are. It’s not a new fad or a new style to convince you to try something new. It’s pure authentic yoga. You just need to embrace the practice and not compare yourself to anyone else. Because we are all perfectly unique 💕
