Positive Touch Therapy

Positive Touch Therapy was formed by Hayley Bennett BSc in 2018 after spending her first year out of university treating and gaining valuable experience within a well established clinic based in South Wales. Having suffered a personal injury that left her with compartment syndrome, Hayley has always been passionate about Sports Therapy and strives to have the best understanding of the body and injury prevention. Hayley has always been surrounded in the world of sport, most predominantly football and swimming. From playing alongside the Brighton and Hove Albion girls football team and local East Sussex teams, to working and volunteering as a coach for many years to swimming and competing at county level. Hayley graduated Chichester University with a degree in Sports Therapy in 2017. With the degree focusing largely on the examination and assessment of sports injuries (spinal and peripheral joints), biomechanical/postural faults, rehabilitation for injured athletes, manual therapy, sports massage - pre and post-activity, electrotherapy modalities and K-taping. Hayley is also a qualified level 3 personal trainer allowing her to be in depth and innovative with strengthening programmes and seek out any weakness a patient may have that could be contributing to pain or hindering performance. We have recently set up a new clinic in Unit 46a located within the Enterprise Centre on Denton Island, Newhaven. We have lots of accessible parking at the front of the building next to Sussex Downs college, with more availability from 8am-8pm Mon-Fri. We work hard to be able to get patients as pain free as possible, our mission is to help our patients accomplish their goals in a painless, compassionate and efficient way.

For a second year Positive Touch Therapy will be Sponsoring 3 athletes for a whole year 🎉 😁

Including an extended sponsorship for Beth Boyes our young pole vaulter!

Positive Touch Therapy is looking to sponsor 3 athletes competing at county/national/professional level in their chosen sport.

This year long sponsorship will include:

A FREE monthly 45 min Sports Therapy session to check in with the athlete and help to optimise their performance. (Usually costing £660!)

This session includes injury prevention advice, biomechanical analysis, nutrition advice, taping, pre + post event massage depending on their recovery/preparation needs.

Closing date for applications will be the 31st January 2026.

Beautiful weather for my lunch break today 😍 and a bit of play time for Bert 🐶

Fully booked afternoon of patients and working tomorrow morning 😍 gorgeous start to the new year 😁

I have had a few new patients coming into the clinic recently and of course some returning patients.

It's been very varied over the winter, but today one patient came in due to a fall in the slippery weather resulting in a ligament sprain and fluid build up in the back of her knee.

I worked on some effleurage massage to reduce the swelling, and promote new blood flow to the knee. As well as some tool work/joint mobilisation around the ligament to reduce pain and increase mobility.

I then put together a programme for her to follow for two weeks to restore full range of movement and then we can work on some strength work to prevent falls from happening in the future.

Other injuries have included some bad backs/necks, and a sprained ankle getting ready for a ski trip 👏🏻

What a 7 years it has been, this has been a perfect first year working from home 🙌🏻 Bert is has also really enjoyed all the extra cuddles 🐶

Thank you to everyone for making my dream come true 🙏🏻 and thank you for all the recommendations on here and in person and everyone who has visited the clinic, I truly cannot thank you enough 💙 I always feel unbelievably grateful that I get to do a job that feels more like a hobby 🫶🏻 so thank you guys for always keeping me busy 💙

This patient injured their back severely and whilst waiting for the NHS referral we were able to get them sorted before their appointment came through 🙌🏻
