Here we go!

2XI team announcement for the first fixture of the season and it’s a strong one away to Cleadon CC!

With new skipper Kieran leading from the front, plus welcoming back a good mix of senior figures with a sprinkle of the upcoming junior stars of Dawdon WCC let’s hope for a big first win of the season!

After being relegated to division 5 this is a chance for the team to bounce back strongly and push for a swift promotion back to division 4.

As we turn the page to 2026, there’s loads to be proud of after a strong 2025 for Dawdon WCC 🏏

1XI
Last season saw the First Team stabilise themselves back in DNECL Division 1, a huge step forward for the club. Heading into 2026, the side will be led by Matty Billyard and strengthened with new recruits Harry Batty (Hylton) and Liam Stores (Ryhope), alongside the welcome return of Chris Goede and Pasindu Thirimadura. Plenty to be excited about as the lads look to improve on last season league position.

2XI
2025 proved challenging for the Seconds, but there’s a real belief they’re ready to bounce back. Competing in Division 5 this season, Keiran Weyer takes the reins with a squad blending, returning familiar faces, experience and youth – all set to fire back strongly.

3XI & Sunday Development
Continuity is key, with Colin Shaw and Kyle Dodds once again leading the 3XI and Sunday Development sides. Great news for the 3XI as well, with the league now localised and competing in Midweek Coast Division 2 for 2026.

Women’s Cricket
2025 marked a historic first season for our Women’s Team, captained by Bridie Tizard, who will again lead the side in 2026. A brilliant debut year saw the lasses win their first ever softball festival and finish the season playing at the Durham Seat Unique Stadium – an incredible achievement 👏

Juniors
From U9s softball (with many boys and girls taking their first steps in cricket) right through to U17s, our junior section continued to thrive. It was fantastic to see so many juniors contributing to senior sides, and special mention to Ethan Lloyd, Dylan Pittilla and Josh Gustard, who represented the club at Durham Super 4s and did us proud.

There are so many positives to build on as we head into 2026. Training is already underway across all sections, and we can’t wait to get the season started.
