We’re absolutely buzzing to announce that Liam Storesey has joined the club from Ryhope! 🙌

After taking 8 wickets against us in just two games last season, we’re more than happy to have him on our side this time!

Storesey brings a record of 193 first team wickets at Ryhope, including 33 last season with best figures of 5 for 41. 💪🎯

Next season, Storesey will be leading our attack with the new ball, and we can’t wait to see him charging in for us! 🔥⚡

What a thriller today in our DNECL Division 1 clash against Tudhoe!

Dawdon 1XI secured a nail-biting 1-run victory in a game that had everyone on the edge of their seats! 🙌

Batting first, we posted 204-8, with a crucial 81-run partnership between Pasindu Thirimadura (78) and Lennon Richards (39) that held the innings together and proved to be the difference in the end. 💪

In the field, our young guns stepped up brilliantly:

U15 Charlie Stott claimed the huge wicket of Tudhoe's top scorer James Hindmarsh (67) 🔥

Fellow U15 Tristan Eugene kept the pressure on, taking 2 key wickets for just 22 runs! 👏

Bowling figures were led by Farooq Din with 3-47, and James Dent also chipped in with 2-30 to close out the game.

🏆 Player of the Match: Pasindu Thirimadura for his match-defining 78 and calm leadership at the crease.

Wristbands are now available for £5, giving unlimited access to inflatables and face painting on the day (Sunday 31st August 2025).

They’re available to buy now in the club bar, and will also be on sale at the raffle/tombola stand on the day.
