🌿 International Stress Awareness Week 🌿
This week is all about raising awareness of stress, its impact on our wellbeing, and the importance of taking steps to reduce it. Stress affects us all at different times, but learning how to manage it can make a big difference to our overall health and happiness.
💭 Common Causes of Stress
• Work pressures or job insecurity

• Health concerns – our own or loved ones’
• Family and relationship challenges
• Major life changes or uncertainty
🧘♀️ Ways to Manage Stress
•Take regular breaks and make time for activities you enjoy
• Stay active – even a short daily walk can help clear your mind
• Connect with others – talk to family, friends or colleagues
• Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness or yoga
• Maintain a regular sleep routine and balanced diet
• Don’t be afraid to ask for help

• Your GP can provide advice, medication if appropriate, and referrals to talking therapies.
• Talking Therapies (NHS self-referral): You can access free counselling and CBT through https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/talking-therapies.
• NHS 111 (option 2) – for urgent mental health support, 24/7.
External Services

• Samaritans: 116 123 – 24-hour free helpline
• Everyturn Mental Health: www.everyturn.org – local mental health and wellbeing support
